Did you know we deliver more than 2,800 citizenship tests a month on behalf of the Australian Department of Home Affairs? Thanks to our ongoing partnership, citizenship testing is now more accessible for people on the Gold Coast, with Biggera Waters Service Centre now our largest site to offer citizenship testing. We’re thrilled to announce we won an Institute of Public Administration Australia award for helping bring statutory declarations into the 21st century. Our partnership with the Australian Government Department of Finance and Attorney-General's Department, on the digital Commonwealth statutory declaration, took out the Collaboration Category at the recent Spirit of Service Awards. This first of its kind solution allows you to securely complete a Commonwealth ‘stat dec’ entirely online using myGov and your Digital ID. ‘This new digital option is simple, secure and convenient,’ Chief Information and Digital Officer, Charles McHardie said. ‘In a few quick steps people can complete their declaration, electronically sign it and download their completed stat dec. ‘It takes significantly less time and much less effort than a paper declaration.’ This award is a testament to our work with partner agencies to drive positive change and make government services simple. Congratulations to the team and all the other winners on the night! We’ve raised $3,940 so far for the Black Dog Institute, in solidarity for the 1 in 5 Australians who experience a mental illness each year. Fran and Michael kicked off our involvement in One Foot Forward three years ago. The movement encourages people to walk, run or roll to raise much-needed funds. Their team is known as ‘The Wombats’ but they’re not as sleepy as their namesake. This year the team has clocked up 3,100kms. ‘We all have our own stories and personal experiences with managing mental health, whether it’s our own, someone we know, or a loved one,’ Michael said. Great work Team Wombats! #MentalHealth #Fundraising #Inspiration

Our Community Partnership Specialist Officers are one of the many ways our agency supports people experiencing vulnerabilities. And they do this by going to where they are. They work with partner organisations and can be found around the country in all capital cities and many regional locations. This means we’re able to tailor the support we provide to people needing extra help. Phonethip is one of our specialist officers, working with CORE Community Services in Cabramatta. We spoke to some customers to learn about how she’s been able to help them during difficult times.

Our CEO David Hazlehurst acknowledged Hannah’s incredible impact across the agency. ‘She’s the epitome of the word inspirational, and she’s also a leader that people want to follow,’ David said.
