Tomorrow, four Slattery cyclists will join the peloton taking on Healesville in our 11th Tour de PIF! 🚴♂️ We are proud to be a supporting sponsor of this annual cycling challenge to raise funds to provide every young Australian facing homelessness with a safe, secure home environment. Youth homelessness affects 46,000 young Australians, and each night, 1 in 2 young people are being turned away from supported accommodation services. The Property Industry Foundation provides tangible impact on youth homelessness, building accommodation, and providing ongoing support for homes where young people can live safely. River’s Edge has been awarded The Daryl Jackson Award for Educational Architecture! 🏆 Congratulations to Wardle and University of Tasmania on receiving the Australian Institute of Architects’ highest national accolade for buildings in this category. In the same vein as existing architecture within Inveresk and buildings of the new UTAS campus, River’s Edge utilises industrial materials and timber in its design.    Outstanding recognition for a key project stemming from a decade of collaboration between Slattery, University of Tasmania, Wardle, Rare and Fairbrother on the Northern Transformation Program. Sharing insights where they matter, Executive Director Mark Cathie recently joined Darebin City Council's bespoke seminar on 'Planning, Design & Development Economics'. Mark shared a presentation on efficient apartment design and touched on an overview of current market conditions, the fundamentals of cost-efficient apartment design, and referred to some real life case studies. He was joined by Tim Riley of Property Collectives, Elle Harrington of Tract Consultants and Thomas Marshall of Fieldwork in the panel discussion facilitated by Neil Cooney of Darebin City Council. A great opportunity for frank conversation between industry and Council on town planning and development in the residential sector to increase housing availability.

Today we farewell Jim Harrington, who is leaving Slattery to embark on his well-earned retirement. Jim has made a significant contribution to the Quantity Surveying profession with a distinguished career spanning more than 40 years. Jim joined Slattery in 2016 to bolster our health sector capability, making an immediate impact on project delivery and knowledge sharing. He is renowned for his deep industry relationships and client focus, which has played a vital role in Slattery becoming the trusted adviser on many significant health projects across Victoria and Australia. Our national health team is committed to continuing his legacy of providing outstanding service and value to our clients. We wish Jim all the best for his next chapter. Having tended to Victoria’s health sector for many years, he now turns to tending his interests with family, travel, cooking, gardening, and collecting music.
