Last night marked the 30th meeting of the Star of the South Community Advisory Group, a forum established in 2020 to seek advice from and share information with the community about the project. We believe that involving local people from the very beginning makes projects better. The Community Advisory Group has played an active role in shaping Star of the South by sharing local perspectives, feedback and Gippslander's expectations of this new industry. Over the past four years, members have developed an in-depth understanding of offshore wind which they can share with their neighbours. Allan Rogers, a local resident and passionate angler, has been an active member since the group’s inception. “I’ve learned so much about renewable energy and offshore wind. It’s satisfying to be able to share information with my neighbours and help them understand what’s proposed", he said. Thank you to our independent Chair and members, past and present, who have contributed their time, community spirit and good will to help shape project and support their neighbours to get involved.
