Squadron Energy's Spicers Creek Wind Farm has become one of the largest approved in NSW 💪 We're one step closer to starting construction on the project with NSW Independent Planning Commission (IPC) approval. The wind farm is proposed to include up to 117 wind turbines and is expected to generate enough electricity to power more than 395,000 homes and prevent 650,000 tonnes of emissions annually. https://bit.ly/4hoOk5T

Project development is underway for the proposed Bookham Wind Farm, located on Ngunnawal Country, around 30km west of Yass, NSW. Once complete, the 594MW wind farm will produce enough electricity to power around 321,000 NSW homes and prevent 322,000 tonnes of emissions annually. We thank all those who came to the Community Drop-In Session last week and provided valuable feedback on the project. More info: https://lnkd.in/gCg9aqef

Congratulations to all the reciepients of the Chloe Munro Scholarship for Transformational Leadership at last week's Women in Renewables luncheon during All Energy Australia. Our very own Senior Project Manager, Laura Jeffrey 🌈 chaired the panel discussion featuring other industry leaders driving crucial change as we transition to a clean energy future.
What an inspiring discussion at our Women in Renewables lunch sponsored by Lumea during All Energy Australia. Around 550 industry leaders came together to discuss the power of individual and collective voices in driving advocacy for a clean energy future. Dr Laura Jeffrey 🌈, Senior Project Manager at Squadron Energy, chaired a fantastic panel discussion featuring outstanding leaders Kate Osaze, CEO & Co-Founder at Reswitch , Tammy Vos, Head of Community & Impact at TradeMutt, and Rebecca (Bec) Halliday, Founder – Principal, GIRA Advisory. “How do we encourage people to stand up and advocate, to disrupt? That’s where initiatives like Women in Renewables come in. It’s not just about being a woman. It’s about representation, being an ally, and empowering women to stand up for change,” Dr Laura Jeffrey said. On the subject of bringing communities along on the change, Rebecca (Bec) Halliday said, “It’s not about handouts, it’s about creating an equal playing field. Energy poverty is a real thing in First Nations communities, rising sea levels are a real thing. Extinction of species is a real thing. You have people who are intrinsically interested in the things you are interested in, so partner with them.” Congratulations to the recipients of the Chloe Munro Scholarship for Transformational Leadership, announced at today’s lunch: Recipients of the Leading Edge course scholarship: Bethany Du, Tori C., Kirsten Lee, Cindy Ng, Kavya Santhosh, Lucy Sinclair and Lucinda Walker. Recipients of the Executive Ready course scholarship: Megan Aspinall, Uduakobong Ekpenyong, and Carla Evans. These scholarships provide incredible opportunities for professional development and reflect the Clean Energy Council’s commitment to empowering women at all levels of the clean energy industry. Squadron Energy CEO Rob Wheals joined Jennifer Hewett at Day 1 of the #AFREnergyClimateSummit to discuss the once in a generation opportunity the energy transition brings, reiterating that as a sector we need to lift our game and stay the course. "This is an endurance race, not a sprint, and we can't get it wrong as the cost of doing nothing is too great. You don't set out on an endurance race and give up when it gets tough." Project update: Stage One of our Clarke Creek Wind Farm has successfully completed generation registration with the Australian Energy Market Operator (AEMO) for the project's central substation. ✅ This step paves the way for the project to participate in National Electricity Market and begin grid testing. ✅ It also means the project will start generating and exporting renewable energy as it progresses through the grid testing process. ✅Which means some of our turbines onsite will start to spin for the first time!
