GLM2 Smoking Ceremony    Building Communities is a proud participant in project partner ICON’s smoking ceremonies across all the Ground Lease Model 2 (GLM2) sites, (Flemington, Hampton East, Port Melbourne, Prahran and South Yarra) which marks an important project milestone in our journey. Building Communities through the Ground Lease Model projects are deeply committed to honouring First Nations culture through all phases of construction and community integration. Central to this commitment are Aboriginal smoking ceremonies held across our project sites. Led by Traditional Owners, they acknowledge the beginning of a respectful relationship between the land, the community, and the new developments.   These ceremonies, are conducted by local Traditional Owners of the Wurundjeri and Bunurong and are a significant cultural practice to cleanse the land and prepare for the transformation ahead. It is an honour to be invited to participate in this meaningful event and acknowledge the deep connection to Country. We want to thank the Traditional Owners who led our ceremonies, Wurundjeri man Perry Wandin, Wurundjeri man Alex Kerr and Bunurong man Mark Daniels, Danny West. Our team are pleased to report the successful pouring of the first three slabs on their affordable housing project in Brisbane. Having commenced on October 8th, this marks a strong start to the project, with 280+ slabs still to be completed. This early milestone is a testament to the team's dedication and commitment to delivering much-needed housing at a rapid pace. We look forward to providing further updates as construction continues to progress.

Today ANZ & Suncorp Bank’s Bruce Rush joined Deputy Premier Cameron Dick to announce 483 new affordable housing homes to be built across SEQ. These homes will be delivered by the Everyone’s Place Consortium, led by Tetris Capital, includes Metricon, KDL Property Group, and National Affordable Housing with finance from ANZ and support from the Queensland Government’s Housing Investment Fund via the Department of Housing, Local Government, Planning and Public Works. The homes will be supported by the Queensland Government’s signature $2 billion Housing Investment Fund. The homes seek to improve housing affordability and reduce rental stress in Queensland’s growing suburbs. The spacious, low maintenance 1-, 2-, and 3-bedroom homes will each include private backyards and garages to meet the needs of individuals and families seeking suburban lifestyles. Following the recent announcement of the development of Queensland’s largest social and affordable housing precinct in Cairns, Tetris Capital is committed to delivering multiple housing developments within Australia.
