  • In 2023-4, WA attracted 57,000 Chinese leisure visitors, surpassing pre-COVID visitation levels. Visitors and spend from this market makes them WA’s fourth largest international market, with a $111 million spend for this period. Western Australia’s share of Chinese visitors to Australia has grown to 10%, compared with 5.5% in 2019. As Australia recovers its Chinese market, Tourism Council WA will hold two workshops to help local tourism businesses attract and service Chinese visitors. The China Ready workshop will prepare you to service the growing Chinese market by understanding cross-cultural culture, history and traditions, and taboos, along with how to meet, greet and serve Chinese customers. The Marketing to the Chinese Traveller workshop will help you understand the China market, teach you to use Chinese social media, how to work with China-approved Inbound Tour Operators and use suitable payment systems. • Thank you very much to Little Creatures Brewing, RiverBank Estate Winery & Restaurant and Happs Wines for being the beverage sponsors of the 2024 Perth Airport WA Tourism Awards Gala Dinner. Little Creatures was born from a love of great beer shared by a few good mates in 2000. In particular, it was its hop-driven American Pale Ale with a distinct flavour and live bottle conditioned which gave way to our name 'Little Creatures'. The story started on Fremantle’s Fishing Boat Harbour water’s edge, where Little Creatures took a crocodile farm to create our brewery. Fremantle is, and always will be, its spiritual home, a place that brings people together. Because just like Little Creatures’ family of flavourful beers, life gets more interesting when we come together. ALL CREATURES WELCOME. The Riverbank Estate Winery is a family owned producer operating out of a 30 year-old vineyard on the banks of the Swan in Western Australia. This award-winning winery has 18 varieties of wine grapes in their 30-acres of vines and boasts several Gold Plate awards and stunning landscapes that make it perfect for functions. Happs' winery is an innovative, family-owned Western Australian business who believes wine should be accessible and enjoyed by everyone. Founded in 1978, Happs has a long and inspiring story as one of the pioneering, family-run wineries in the Margaret River region. Their story begins with two local high school teachers, Erl and Ros Happ, who fell in love in 1969.
