This election day we want to wish everyone in our US office a happy election day. 🇺🇸🎉🗳️ This last week Tim McLaren has been working with Sarah Nguyen and Andrea Do in our #Arlington office to talk about some of the exciting and recent updates to our Trellis Intelligence Platform, including an even more powerful Trellis Secure Chat for knowledge mastery. We are thrilled to welcome Sarah Nguyen as our new Senior Director of Strategic Partnerships for the US, based out of our Arlington, Virginia office. Sarah will work closely with potential partners across industries to expand our footprint in the US, identifying key opportunities and fostering relationships that help businesses and governments integrate AI into their operations to enhance decision-making, save time, and reduce costs. Sarah brings a wealth of relevant experience, most recently as Investment Director at the Australian Trade and Investment Commission (Austrade). Our very own Michael G. has been named as one of the finalists in the AI category of the upcoming AmCham Australia Alliance Awards!

Trellis Data welcomes the announcement of a new Audit Committee set up to investigate the use of AI systems by the public sector. It's clear that AI technology has the potential to significantly enhance Government operations and deliver better services to the community but issues of sovereignty and data transparency must be top of mind. ---- Head of Communications at Trellis Data Tim McLaren said the inquiry should look at technologies built for Australian audiences. "We firmly believe that when it comes to AI, one size does not fit all, and it's crucial to consider the unique characteristics that define our communities and culture," Mr McLaren said. "The government must carefully consider how generic and homogenous overseas large language models may influence and dilute our policy landscape and way of doing business." Mr McLaren also said where and how Data was being used to inform AI models should be a topic of the inquiry. "As we move forward with AI adoption, it's critical to understand where the data used to train and build these models is coming from and where it's being stored," he said. Last week Trellis Data was excited to be a part of the Smart Cities Council - ANZ event in Adelaide, Australia. During the event, our CEO Michael G. delivered an insightful presentation on the future of AI in urban environments. His key message: Cities must harness the power of AI, prioritising secure, trusted, and impactful implementations to truly unlock its potential. "A smart city is only a successful city when it's working to improve the lives of its citizens. When it comes to AI one size doesn't fit all.
