About us
Women continue to face a multitude of barriers in the workplace, which are often compounded with prejudices such as racism, ableism, and ageism. These inequities are more than just a moral issue; holding back over half the world’s population is negatively impacting us all, including businesses. The WORK180 team is dedicated to removing these barriers, and we do this by focusing on our mission: To give every woman the power of informed choice when making career decisions. We shine a spotlight on workplace policies, benefits and initiatives, so that all women can make more informed decisions about where they choose to work *by women, we mean all who identify and/or experience oppression as a woman (including cis, trans, intersex, non-binary or gender non-conforming individuals).

Women aged 18 to 30 are more worried about money, more likely to feel their financial situation is worsening, and more often unable to afford food or essentials compared to men of the same age. This snapshot of financial disparity between the sexes persists despite progress in closing the pay gap for older women and more women breaking through workplace glass ceilings, says Claire Reindorp, CEO of Young Women’s Trust, which conducted the study. Last year, official data showed the largest increase in the gender pay gap occurred among employees aged 30 to 39, rising from 2.3% to 4.7%. 41% of young women said their financial situation has worsened over the last 12 months, compared with 27% of young men. 55% of young women are “filled with dread” by their household finances compared with 43% of young men. 40% of young women have had to cut back on or stop doing things they enjoy in the last 12 months because they can no longer afford them, compared with 28% of young men. 32% of young women said their hopes for the future had worsened over the last 12 months, compared with 25% of young men. #uknews #genderequality #brittishwomen #womensnews
