Interweaving Indigenous tacit knowledge and collaborative design thinking
About us
Yerrabingin is an Aboriginal owned, emerging landscape design and architecture company that builds upon an established consultation and co-design practice centred on the principle of sensing and caring for Country. Our design approach transcends cultural differences and highlights the many values that are similar across the cultures of our contemporary communities. Supporting a socially inclusive, resilient, and innovative community based on, honouring the wisdom and kinship of all cultures, captured through the lens of custodianship. We utilise a collaborative design approach to focus on the development of Country centred design narratives, principles, and themes for projects. Our team facilitates collaborative design processes that genuinely represents the voices of all those in the community.

Excited to share a Kaunitz Yeung Architecture project which has flown under the radar! The First Peoples Walk at The University of Western Sydney Kingswood Campus. So great to have collaborated with local Elders, Yerrabingin Pty Ltd (landscape), Alphabet Studio (signage), Stellen Consulting (civil). We are looking forward to the carfully selected landscape florishing and enriching this special place. The First People’s Walk is a space of tribute and recognition of Indigenous people and culture. As a place of education, it aims to teach people about the cultural significance of plants and animals for our First Peoples. The space also provides an ecosystem restoration, local Indigenous teaching and storytelling, and the development of a bush tucker garden through hands-on learning with the University’s environmental experts and Indigenous Elders. Importantly, it is a space where staff, students, and the community can gather and feel connected to both the University and the natural environment. #sustainability #landscapearchitecture #australianarchitecture #westernsydney #westernsydneyuniversity #indigenousculture #aboriginalaustralia

Very proud to have been part of this project! The landscape terrace we’ve designed is 100% native and 80% edible, the materials are inspired by Gadigal Country and the space brings connection to nature and Country for workers within the building. You’ll see Alia Khan and myself chat about it towards the end of the video (2:45 remaining) Yerrabingin Pty Ltd
