Last night CASG’s Head Land Systems Division, MAJGEN Jason Blain, DSC, AM, CSC, joined MAJ Dee-Ann Jackson and the Armoured Fighting Vehicles team at the Women in Defence Awards. “It was a significant event focused on recognising the wealth of talent in Defence and Defence Industry which was very evident on the night, with a particularly high calibre of women shortlisted for awards across a range of categories,” MAJGEN Blain said. “MAJ Jackson was shortlisted from an extremely competitive field in the Project Management category for her outstanding achievements as the Lead Test & Evaluation Manager in Armoured Fighting Vehicles, having acted frequently at least one level above her current rank (sometimes two!). “MAJ Jackson was the only CASG member shortlisted for these awards, demonstrating the competitiveness and talent we have within our Division. “Please join me in congratulating MAJ Jackson and please see a photo from the evening below. It was terrific to have MAJ Jackson’s Mum, Debbie, also attend this special occasion.”

Alexander Mazur is an Engineer with Prototype and Test Services within the Land Engineering Agency in CASG’s Land Systems Division. ‘Working as an engineer, I always imagined it would be working in the office, and it’s quite rare to get to do hands-on testing like we do here. This is why I love my job. I get to do all the fun science in the field with a balance of analysing the data on my laptop whether that’s at a test site or at the office. ‘The work is really varied and we get to do some cool things testing noise and acoustics, vibration, and vehicles, including the testing of prototypes and equipment during the acquisition process,’ Alexander said. Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group reposted this
A very successful Land Forces 2024. Terrific engagement with industry partners from across Australia and with our friends from around the globe. Of special note was seeing the modernisation of our Army’s combined arms fighting system on display. Most soldiers would agree it is hard to find something as spectacular as the sight of our new Abrams M1A2 Sep V3 Main Battle Tank lined up with our Redback Infantry Fighting Vehicle and our Boxer Combat Reconnaissance Vehicle. Well done to all those who made #LandForces2024 such a success, and special mention to the Land Systems Division team at Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group for the great job they are doing working with industry to deliver capability at speed to our warfighters. It is #happening and it #matters. Proud to serve with you. Many of the graduates have already secured employment in the industry. “The 12-month Defence Industry Pathways Program produces a defence industry ready workforce to meet the growing needs and priorities for the defence industry in Western Australia ,” said Rear Admiral Wendy Malcolm, Head Patrol Boats and Specialist Ships, who addressed the cohort.
