I have a rule about never being 'proud of' or 'honoured about' anything on LinkedIn. I am, after all, from a country shaped by the "Law of Jante", where the first of ten rules is that "You're not to think you are anything special" (look it up if you don't know it!) This time I'll make an exemption, however, because I was both proud, honoured - and surprised! - to be asked to feature in the Building Magazine #WomenInConstruction25 special to coincide with #IWD2025. I had a great chat with Jordan Marshall about my work at VELUX and Efficient Buildings Europe, how the #construction sector is moving towards including #sustainability and #energyefficiency more centrally, and why #diversity - also beyond #gender - matters to me. I'm one of 12 women featured in the report, covering different geographies and disciplines and you should read them all - I was very inspired by them all 💪 I'll leave you with my final thoughts in the interview: “Don’t apologise for your gender or your agenda,” she says. “If you are given an opportunity, take it. Just two months into 2025, Efficient Buildings Europe has already been actively 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗮𝗴𝗲𝗱 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗸𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗲𝗰𝗶𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻-𝗺𝗮𝗸𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘁𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗽𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗰𝘆 𝗱𝗶𝘀𝗰𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗶𝗼𝗻𝘀 𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗿𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗶𝘀𝘀𝘂𝗲𝘀, including #affordablehousing, #energysecurity, and #industrialcompetitiveness. Our objective remains clear: to provide expertise, foster dialogue, and support the development of effective and greener policies! 🔹 𝗔𝗳𝗳𝗼𝗿𝗱𝗮𝗯𝗹𝗲 𝗛𝗼𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻 – Efficient Buildings Europe met with Matthew Baldwin, Head of the Task Force on Affordable Housing at the European Commission, Agnese Papadia, Deputy Head of Social and Inclusive Entrepreneurship unit in DG EMPL, including discussions on the 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗰𝘁𝘀 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗜𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗘𝗨 𝗺𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗺 with Jonas Sebhatu, Deputy Head of InvestEU Implementation Unit. 🔹 𝗘𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆 𝗦𝗲𝗰𝘂𝗿𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗙𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 – We engaged with Louis Watine, team leader on energy security in DG ENER and with the European Banking Federation to address the 𝘀𝗶𝗺𝗽𝗹𝗶𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗼𝗺𝗻𝗶𝗯𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗺𝗲𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗻𝗶𝘀𝗺𝘀 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗲𝗻𝗲𝗿𝗴𝘆-𝗲𝗳𝗳𝗶𝗰𝗶𝗲𝗻𝘁 𝗯𝘂𝗶𝗹𝗱𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀. 🔹𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗗𝗲𝗮𝗹 – We exchanged views with Barbara Bonvissuto, Director for ‘Ecosystems III: Construction, Machinery and Standardisation’ of the DG GROW,  on 𝗮𝗱𝘃𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗶𝗻𝗱𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝘁𝗿𝗮𝗻𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗲𝗻𝗴𝘁𝗵𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲’𝘀 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗽𝗲𝘁𝗶𝘁𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀.
