In partnership with Guidehouse, we are proud to support Egypt's journey toward a smarter, more sustainable energy future through the MENALINKS programme. Together, we're developing a regulatory framework to accelerate the integration of smart grids into the Egyptian electricity market.🌍🔌 Last week, our colleagues Isabelle Gerkens and Frédéric Van Cauteren took part in the MENALINKS Regional Kick-Off Workshop in Cairo, held during Cairo Sustainable Energy Week (CSEW). During the workshop, we presented initial recommendations for mini grid implementation to the Egyptian Regulator (EgyptERA). These insights were shaped by weeks of in-depth analysis of Egypt's current legislative and regulatory landscape, benchmarking against regions with similar energy systems, and collaborating closely with the dedicated Regulatory Workforce. With alignment on these recommendations and the path forward, our next step is to translate these insights into actionable steps for the Regulator. EGI will continue to provide hands-on support to ensure successful implementation, driving Egypt toward a resilient and future-proof energy system. ⚡️ #SmartGrids #EnergyTransition #MENALINK #SustainableEnergy #Egypt #EGIPartnerships

Happy to be invited to speak on a panel at SECW - Sarajevo Energy and Climate Week about RES connections. This is my third time talking on the topic of managing large connection requests - from an Operator perspective. Clearly a topic that many identify with, so a lot of interest from different users 👍 Fortunately there are already solutions available for exploration and many global examples where Operators have or are currently dealing with the issue of managing large volumes of grid connection requests. In this case, it's best to lean on these examples and collaborate on possible solutions, we are here Elia Grid International (EGI) if you are interested on this topic!

At the beginning of September, we had the honour of welcoming SP Group to our office in Brussels. This important meeting marked the final stages of a collaborative project focusing on the sizing, staffing, and structuring of the entity responsible for developing power interconnection projects at SP Group.🤝 Leveraging the expertise of the Elia Group and our extensive international experience, we analysed the proposed scenarios and provided tailored recommendations to support SP Group in achieving its strategic goals. We are proud to contribute to this impactful initiative and look forward to seeing the success of SP Group’s power interconnection projects. 🔧💡 #EliaGridInternational #SPGroup #EnergyTransition #Interconnection #GlobalCollaboration #Expertise

Our colleague Siti Aziz represented us at the recent IEEE PowerTalks in Muscat, Oman, where she discussed how Oman’s 🌞 solar and 🌬️ wind potential is driving the country’s renewable energy push, the upcoming role of 💧 green hydrogen for electricity production and energy storage, as well as the importance of strengthening the grid between the northern and southern regions for resilience. With ambitious goals of 40-70% renewables by 2040 and net-zero by 2050, Oman is well-positioned to succeed with the right solutions to infrastructure, market design, and partnerships. It was a great opportunity to engage with industry professionals and share how Elia Grid International is actively contributing to the region’s clean energy transition. 🌍 We are committed to enabling a more sustainable and resilient energy future and look forward to continuing our collaboration with partners across the region to help achieve these ambitious goals and drive impactful change together. ✨
