In this video she highlights how, like in the rest of Europe, Albanian schools teach literature starting with Homer. “We have come to know Europe through its books and famous authors. 24 October is United Nations Day and marks the anniversary of the UN Charter's entry into force in 1945. #UNDay is an important reminder of what we can achieve through multilateral cooperation. Ahead of this UN Day, we asked our trainees why the UN matters to them. Follow us this week to hear from young people as they reflect on the UN at 79! How do you think the #UN can better involve young voices in the decision-making process? “It is important not to create parallel structures of #youth engagement, but rather meaningfully include youth in the existing structures and give them a seat at the table. Their voices should be listened to, and they need to be empowered to shape the decisions on all levels of decision-making” - Josephine Hebling, Human Rights Trainee (pictured in the UN Japanese garden) European External Action Service | European Commission | Delegation of the European Union to the UN and other international organisations in Geneva | Germany in the UN

In June 2024, the College of Europe in Natolin hosted the third edition of the Natolin Borderland Study Trip Module, part of the European Diplomatic Academy. This initiative, funded by the EU and implemented under the overall responsibility of the High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and the European External Action Service (EEAS), offers participants insights into regional, European, and transatlantic security dynamics following Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine. The highlight of the module was a meeting with Mr. Tobias Billström, Sweden’s Minister for Foreign Affairs, who delivered a lecture on Sweden’s foreign policy. Participants also met with other diplomats, politicians, analysts, and and humanitarian aid workers. They travelled beyond Warsaw to the EU’s external border: the Polish-Ukrainian border. They visited Rzeszów and Przemyśl to explore the cities’ roles as hub for international aid to Ukraine. The College of Europe in Natolin is dedicated to enhancing the knowledge and skills of future European diplomats through impactful programs like the Natolin Borderland Study Trip Module, emphasizing the importance of regional security as well as EU support for Ukraine.
