European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA) reposted this
Kicking off the final day of our European CO2 Summit 2025, Robert Skribanek, European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA) delivered an insightful keynote on rethinking CO2’s role in sustainability, innovation, and the energy transition. 📢“CO2 can be considered a symbol of climate change and environmental challenge that could be transformed to useful resources, sustainable development – as I call it, an opportunity." As industry leaders explore new pathways for utilisation, reduction, and circular economies, the focus is shifting from problem-solving to opportunity creation. As we head into our final sessions of #GWCO2, what’s your biggest takeaway from the summit so far? #gasworld #industrialgas #CO2Summit #CarbonCapture #Sustainability #NetZero #CO2Innovation #CO2

It is with profound sadness that we hear of the passing of Dr. Andrei V. Tchouvelev. Andrei has always been very supportive to EIGA’s pre-normative work. He was a true professional and a kind colleague. EIGA gives its heartfelt sympathies to the many people who will miss him. Hydrogen Council

Today is the International day of women’s rights, and this year's motto is "For ALL Women and Girls: Rights. Equality. Empowerment." Let’s continue working towards an industry—and a world—where equality isn’t just an ideal but a reality. Because when women thrive, industries excel, and societies grow. #InternationalWomensDay #IWD2025 #WomenInSTEM #IndustrialGases
11 February has been the International Day of Women and Girls in Science for 10 years 🎂 Why does it matter? Because humanity cannot achieve sustainable progress without half of its potential. 👨🎓 👩🎓 Why does it matter to European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA)? Because we encourage all talented and skilled people to work in industrial, food and medical gases, and because we are proud of the female experts who work in our sector. 👏

International Hydrogen Production Committee. Over 3 days, EIGA hosted the International Hydrogen Production Committee and 2 other international working groups, on Hydrogen Liquefier Coldbox Enclosures and on Managing Oxygen Offtake from Electrolysers. 27 experts provided their expertise in drafting new standards, which will be valid globally in our industry. The standards we published are in support of our members but also serve as guidance to newcomers in the hydrogen economy. All our members together have several hundreds of years experience in safe producing, purifying, storing, and transporting gaseous and liquid hydrogen. European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA) provides these standards free to download from our website....have a look in our library of publications, and you will be surprised of the extent and detail in these documents. #hydrogen #safe

Global Observers greatly contribute to IHC#56 The International Harmonisation Council meets twice a year. This council is composed of the 4 regional associations European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA), AIGA Team, Compressed Gas Association (CGA), JIMGA and the major member companies are represented by their Global Observers. This council decides which industry standards are to be harmonised, i.e. to be applied at global scale, meaning that the document is identical in each region, except for local regulations and some references. In the 56th meeting, hosted by Asia, several interesting topics were discussed, which have a global interest and impact on our industry. The meeting was a success because our member companies provided useful comments to the standards under review and confirmed commitments in having their subject matter experts participating in the joint working groups, who review and finalise the documents’ publication. Just a few examples of topics under discussion: Hydrogen Safety Distances PFAS Carbon capture Cleaning externally contaminated medical gas containers Safe handling of electronic specialty gases Hazop of ASU’s Already more than 70 industry standard are harmonised...and more to come. Sincere thanks to all IHC members.

One year after the launch of the #AntwerpDeclaration, 400 business leaders, industry and worker representatives from across Europe met in Antwerp to discuss the just-published #CleanIndustrialDeal with Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. The message is clear: #DelivertheDeal To restore Europe’s prosperity, we need urgent action to: ✅ Restore the business case for investments in Europe ✅ Implement the EU Green Deal ✅ Safeguard high-quality jobs New EU policies must be assessed against a simple test: 🔷 Do they attract investment to Europe? 🔷Do they keep Europe safe & independent? 🔷Do they lower energy costs? 🔷Do they create markets for sustainable products? 🔷Do they secure quality jobs? European Industrial Gases Association (EIGA)'s President Adolf Walth underlined during the event the role of #IndustrialGases in the decarbonisation efforts AND in the competitiveness of the European industry. 🚀 Europe’s industries are ready to do their part—now it’s time for EU leaders to act.
