🇮🇳🇧🇪 #BEmissionIND • Overall satisfaction following the Belgian princely mission to India With 150 B2B, 3 contracts signed, 5 in progress, and numerous partnerships established, this mission proved to be a successful introduction to the Indian market for the 37 companies making up the Brussels delegation. Want to know more about the results of the mission and why the momentum is so important? Read the takeaway from our Deputy CEO Annelore Isaac, who spearheaded the delegation. 👏 Congratulations to the participants for their achievements and for making Brussels shine on the international stage!
It’s been a few days since I came back from a highly interesting and successful economic mission to India and, to me, its success comes down to 3 things: a committed Brussels delegation, promising prospects, and a momentum to sustain. The momentum because in a rapidly evolving geopolitical context, diversifying trade partnerships has become a strategic priority. This mission was perfectly timed to open new doors for Brussels-based companies in the Indian market. And the need was evident: 60% of participants had little to no prior business experience in India, confirming that this mission served as a true launchpad. The delegation because thanks to motivation and contacts of our 61 participants (30% of whom were women) representing 37 companies, we welcomed more than 200 guests to our fully-booked events. We also organized 150 B2B meetings with the support of the Wallonia Trade and Investment (AWEX) - India team (a big thank you for this exemplary tri-regional collaboration!). And finally prospects, because the networking and targeted exchanges have already delivered tangible outcomes: - 3 contracts signed during the mission - 5 more formalized during the Signing Ceremonies, including: - Le Pain Quotidien , which signed an agreement to open 100 locations across India, with the first two set to launch this year in Mumbai and Delhi. - Yolloh, which secured a deal to distribute its candy in 1,000 stores, with ambitions to reach 10,000 outlets in five years. These results are amazing and we want to help the Brussels companies to build on these milestones. We have learnt during the mission that doing business in India takes time and relies on strong relationships, and thanks to our team on site, Brussels companies, both new and already integrated, benefit from a first class personalized support. As part of this service, we have already planned follow-up actions for the contacts established: an Indian delegation will visit Brussels in late April, thanks to our partnership with MeitY Startup Hub and an Invest roadshow and a combined mission will happen during the Bangalore Tech Summit in November, to activate agreements signed with T-Hub and Kerala Startup Mission. And while we prepare these next steps, I would like to thank all participants, partners, and teams who contributed to this success and contributed to turning this momentum into concrete opportunities. 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗘𝗦𝗚 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗶𝗻𝗮𝗯𝗶𝗹𝗶𝘁𝘆 𝘀𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗮𝘁𝗲 𝘀𝗲𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿? And how is Brussels turning the complexities of the EU's Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD) into transformative opportunities? These are the questions our ecobuild.brussels cluster sought to answer yesterday at a conference organized at MIPIM, the international real estate event in Cannes. Brussels experts and business leaders gave their valuable input on how they are using these challenges to grow and how pragmatic ESG strategies can be a framework for innovation and long-term value creation. “At hub.brussels, we are committed to supporting businesses - large and small - in navigating these changes and to making sustainability a competitive strength. We believe that collaboration is key, between public and private actors, between large companies and SMEs, and across sectors.” Isabelle Grippa, CEO hub.brussels. Because at the end of the day, compliance is just the starting point. The real goal is impact! 🙏 Thank you to our inspiring speakers : Benjamin Cadranel (Citydev), Julie Willem (Atenor), Simon Claeys (B2Ai), Sunita Van Heers (Sureal), Isabelle Grippa 🙌 Emmanuel Malfeyt, Nathalie Stefanovic, Olivier Costa, Federica Lorenzoni #MIPIM #CSRD #ESG #sustainability

🇮🇳🇧🇪 #BEmissionIND | 𝗠𝘂𝗺𝗯𝗮𝗶 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗿: 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝗹𝗲𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗜𝗻𝗱𝗼-𝗕𝗲𝗹𝗴𝗶𝗮𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗰𝗵 𝗰𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗯𝗼𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗲𝘄 𝗶𝗻𝘃𝗲𝘀𝘁𝗺𝗲𝗻𝘁𝘀 𝗶𝗻 𝗕𝗿𝘂𝘀𝘀𝗲𝗹𝘀 After Delhi, the Belgian mission headed to Mumbai, where the program was very much oriented on the immense potential of Indo-Belgian cooperation in the tech sector. This growing synergy was highlighted at The Tech Forum, which brought together a diverse group of speakers, including Proximus Group/Route Mobile Limited and several Indo-Belgian tech startups like Ongil.ai and Ailaysa, who showcased their latest innovations. A visit was organized at the offices of Custom Technologies, Inc., the recent winner of our investment attraction program #MyWelcomePackage. The team treated us to a demo of their cutting-edge VR projects, which they aim to bring to the EU market through their temporary office in hub.brussels’ invest incubator. Driving positive change through innovation was the moto of the Impact Forum we organized with Syensqo and the Damien Foundation. Sustainable development and social impact were at the heart of the very inspiring speeches given by HE Maxime Prévot of Foreign Affairs and Syensqo CEO Dr. Ilham Kadri. One of the lessons learnt during this mission is the importance of having local partners. A recommendation we applied ourselves by renewing our Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Kerala Startup Mission. A partnership which strengthens Brussels’ ties with South India. To end the mission on a high note, the delegation gathered one last time for a Brussels Night, celebrating Indo-Belgian partnerships and highlighting Indian entrepreneurs who have chosen Brussels as their gateway to the EU market, including Ongil.ai, Fresherly®, Clarisoft, Opera, Algibra, ConversionC, and Neeyamo. After a very successful mission, we look forward to seeing new partnerships come to life in the future and to welcoming more Indian innovators to Brussels in 2025! 🎉🇮🇳🇧🇪

SMELLS LIKE SUCCESS 💫 Our Brussels based company D-Carbonize won the Pitch2Pitch award at Mobile World Congress (#MWC) in Barcelona! This three-day competition gives exhibitors the chance to pitch their tech-solutions during the event. And the winner the opportunity to formally present and demo their service during MWC and during Mobile World Live, a live broadcast show dedicated to this international fair. D-Carbonize, a leader in Climate-Tech, offers innovative solutions to measure and reduce companies' carbon footprint. At the heart of their offering is the Carbon Cockpit Scan, a carbon accounting software that helps companies measure their carbon footprint in just 3 hours and enables proactive carbon strategy management.
