Barriers in access to #healthcare for LGBTI people are widespread; the FRA LGBTIQ III Survey collected in 2023 found that 3% of LGBTIQ respondents – and a shocking 28% of trans women respondents – experienced barriers in accessing healthcare. This report, published by the Council of Europe, goes into extensive detail on these barriers, and provides a collection of good and promising practices.

On this #InternationalLesbianDay, we highlight the urgent issues faced by #lesbian, bisexual, and queer (LBQ) women in Europe. The recent resolution by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe adopted on 3 October, calls for targeted policies to protect #LBQ women from violence and discrimination. This report highlights the profound challenges LBQ women encounter, including #intersectional discrimination that complicates their access to human rights. With many LBQ #women, particularly those who are racialised, trans, intersex, and experiencing multiple forms of violence and harassment, it's crucial that we advocate for comprehensive policies that ensure their safety and rights.
