LLLP is this week in Athens for the consortium meeting of the STRIDE project. We are focusing on the progress in the analysis of longitudinal data of education and training in the EU, Norway and the UK. The consortium aims by the end of the project to provide concrete tools for evaluating the effectiveness of education policies on inequality in Early childhood education. This week LLLP and PH Freiburg kicked-off the second seminar series of the Bridge Project! 👥 This series is focused on bridging the research, civil society and policy making communities in the field of (global) citizenship education. 💪 The discussions revolved around finding constructive ways of communicating within and among the different communities while navigating the challenges that come with such dynamic and value-laden concept as it is (global) citizenship. Participants also explored strategies to join forces and ensure that results from practice and research can inform policy development in the field of (global) citizenship education. We would like to thank Liam Wegimont from Global Education Network Europe (GENE), Rilli Lappalainen from Bridge 47 - Building Global Citizenship and Peter Cunningham, from the London Metropolitan University for their valuable inputs to our seminar. The confirmation hearings for Commissioners-designate are upon of us, but are we asking the right questions to them ❓ The written questions have been made public, and yet for the education and training portfolios there is much left to be desired.  One for all: it is concerning to notice that the increased linkages between education and employment policies are not welcomed with more scrutiny over the potential danger of putting education solely in the service of the labour market.
