📚 ARV Reading Corner 📚 Check our latest policy recommendations paper on "Speeding up the Implementation of Zero-Emission Buildings and Neighbourhoods through Targeted Financial Policies". This paper puts forward 10 key policy recommendations for national and regional policy makers to overcome financial barriers for building renovation and transform existing buildings into zero-emission or positive energy neighbourhoods by 2050. The recommendations are based on experiences and learnings from 8 research and innovations projects in Europe, including 33 demonstration sites around Europe. 🌟 On October 28, the Solar Energy Materials and Systems Department at IREC - Institut de Recerca en Energia de Catalunya successfully performed updates on two operational pre-industrial demonstrators. 🛠️ 1⃣ In Navarra, at the Centro Tecnológico Lurederra, we implemented an update to the screening tool for the smart and energy-efficient recycling of high-value PVB. This innovation contributes significantly to the recycling industry, offering a second life to PVB as a source of raw materials and reducing its environmental impact. 2⃣ In Palma de Mallorca, at the GESA building, we optimized the monitoring of the environment and the photovoltaic performance in real time in the panels integrated into efficient buildings. This work moves us towards zero energy impact buildings and improves the study of the performance and sustainability of these structures. These improvements, developed within the framework of the SUNRISE Project and Green Deal ARV project, not only optimize the performance of the demonstrators, but also facilitate the transfer of research solutions to society. We’re excited to announce the release of a policy recommendation report, developed with insights from eight European projects. #synikia has contributed through its angle of Sustainable Plus Energy Neighbourhoods (#SPEN) and the strength of #socialhousing, while these other projects also strive to highlight the importance of affordable and inclusive solutions, the benefits of energy-efficient solutions, and the potential of scaling up. I går gjennomførte vi, Norwegian University of Science and Technology (NTNU) og SINTEF, forskningsdag sammen med og hos Bærum Municipality, med både politisk og administrativ ledelse til stede. Hovedtema var resultater og erfaringer fra Bærum kommunes deltakelse i FME ZEN - Research Centre on Zero Emission Neighbourhoods in Smart Cities, der de har vært en av de ambisiøse partnerkommunene i senteret. Møtet var en felles strategisk dialog rundt resultater og erfaringer, men også en samtale om muligheter for samarbeid videre. Møtet ble også koblet opp mot samarbeidsavtalen NTNU har med Bærum kommune. Det var presentasjoner, refleksjoner og diskusjoner om hva vi har fått til sammen, spesielt knyttet til ZEN-piloten på Fornebu. Det kom også gode innspill til nye prosjekter og videre kommunikasjon rundt resultatene i FME ZEN. Vi ble ønsket velkommen av ordfører Lisbeth Hammer Krog, som bl.a. påpekte viktigheten av slikt forskningssamarbeid. Det var gode presentasjoner fra både Bærum kommune, SINTEF og NTNU, bl.a.: -- FME ZEN - Hva har vært gjort og hva nå? ved Ann Kristin Kvellheim, Judith Thomsen og Niki Gaitani. -- Erfaringer fra Bærum ved Camilla Torp, Karen Gunleiksrud og Trond Myrland. -- Driving Urban Transitions - en videreføring ved Anne Kristine Feltman. -- Forskning som driver for innsparing ved Rolf André Bohne.
