The Green Fix reposted this
"I wonder if we can actually fix the world with a screwdriver and a hammer." A couple of weeks ago, I volunteered to write the introduction for the latest edition of The Green Fix . I wanted to write something that is politically neutral, and I clearly failed at that intent. When I started to write this introduction, I wanted to use the knowledge acquired during my year at the Right to Repair Europe and to promote the International Repair Day, but while writing it I noticed that I simply couldn't do it without mentioning the systemic issues linked to the universal right to repair. Let me say it as clearly as possible: creating a right to repair for the sake of green growth is useless or even detrimental. In the words of Chico Mendes: "Right to Repair without politics is a hobby". The struggle for our right to repair is a class struggle, and a Universal Right to Repair is the way of "seizing the means of production". These are some of the stand points that you can read in the latest edition of The Green Fix. A special thanks goes to Cass J Hebron, who gave me this opportunity (idk if she regrets it lol) and helped me editing the text and making the whole blabla ok-ish. You can read the edition, containing considerations on repair and other very interesting pieces, here: https://lnkd.in/esnSckSa
