Tuscan Organisation of Universities and Research for Europe (TOUR4EU) reposted this
It’s a wrap! 🎉 On 14 January 2025, we successfully concluded the #CARE4CAREPolicySeminar at the Regione Toscana Bruxelles EU Liaison Office. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who made this event a success! The highlight of the seminar was the presentation of the CARE4CARE Policy Paper, authored by Prof. Eva Kocher from European-University Viadrina. This comprehensive document provides concrete proposals addressing job quality, health and safety, migration, and social dialogue in the care sector. After an introduction of the project by our Principal Investigator, prof. Maria Luisa Vallauri from the Università degli Studi di Firenze, we were honored to have Flaviana Teodosiu outline the latest updates on the #EuropeanCareStrategy from the European Commission, highlighting its alignment with the CARE4CARE project’s recommendations and the shared vision for improving working conditions in the care sector. In the second part, we heard from Sonia Nawrocka (European Trade Union Institute (ETUI) and Laura Nurski from CEPS (Centre for European Policy Studies), who presented their groundbreaking work on care-related topics. Their interventions provided invaluable feedback and insights for the finalization of the CARE4CARE Policy Paper, authored by Prof. Eva Kocher. We also extend our gratitude to the participants for their significant contributions during the open discussion and for fostering meaningful networking connections. Additionally, we acknowledge and thank the speakers who couldn’t attend—Laeticia Thissen (FEPS), Demi (Dimitra) Theodori (ETUI), and Dalila Ghailani (European Social Observatory (OSE))—for their prior input and support for the project. This seminar is yet another step forward in shaping a fairer, more just future for care workers across Europe.
