🚂🌍 Technical innovations drive the most dynamic production system in European rail freight: intermodal 🚛🚢 At UIRR, we're actively supporting the evolution of intermodal freight wagons and their positive impact on Combined Transport efficiency through the ILU and Wagon Platform, where UIRR members and technology partners regularly interact ( 🖱 https://lnkd.in/erbVVR_h). The sector continues to bring new technical improvements for both vertical and horizontal loading techniques: 🔹 Vertical loading is used to transport more than 90% of the intermodal loading units carried. It includes a new generation of (pocket) wagons for semi-trailers and flat wagons for containers and swap bodies. 🔹 Horizontal loading technologies – such as those pioneered by CargoBeamer, VTG or the Lohr Group – offer further flexibility by allowing non-craneable trailers to be seamlessly transhipped onto wagons. With InnoTrans 2024 on the horizon, we at UIRR are eager to take stock of the innovations that technology providers such as Greenbrier-Europe, Dellner - Train Connection Systems, Knorr-Bremse Rail Vehicle Systems, TATRAVAGONKA a.s., Voith Group, UIRR partner VTG, Wabtech Corporation, Wascosa AG TÜRASAŞ, HELROM will deliver to further enhance sustainability and efficiency! What innovations are you most excited to see at INNOTRANS this year? 🤔 #Intermodal #RailFreight #INNOTRANS #Innovation #Sustainability #UIRR #CombinedTransport #logistics #rail
