Data Engineer & Analyst

Within Univercells group, which provides global services to all UNVC affiliates, the IT & Digital department is looking for a full-time Data engineer & Analyst that will actively contribute to the development of the data platform project launched a year ago.

This project aims at building a centralized data lake based on data collected from all affiliates and business verticals (e.g., finance, sales, operations, HR) to provide actionable metrics and KPIs.

The data engineer & analyst will be responsible for the implementation of the data platform data model, the integration of the data platform with the enterprise solutions and the development of new dashboards / reports.

The role offers the possibility to work remotely for up to three days per week with the remaining days to be spent between our offices in Brussels and Jumet.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Participate in workshops with business teams to analyze business requirements and design data models to convert raw data into meaningful insights

• Design and implement efficient and maintainable data integration flows with enterprise solutions (e.g., SAP, Hubspot, Mpleo, Sharepoint…)

• Recommend the optimal way to import data from different data sources (internal and external)

• Be able to execute data discovery on client data sets. Identify data characteristics and adjust ETL and database design accordingly

• Extend and improve our data platform data framework

• Build automated reports and dashboards within Power BI cross affiliates

• Build documentation on new dashboards, KPIs specs and data model updates

REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in computer engineering, computer science or related fields

• 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role with working experience in database, ETL design and development

• Expert in Microsoft Azure suite (Synapse workspace (DB, Pipelines…), DevOps, Storage accounts…) with experience in data integration for on-premises systems and cloud implementation

• Expert in SQL

• Programming experience with following language: Python or C# is a plus

• Expert in Power BI dashboards development & design

• Experience in writing technical documents, ETL specifications and data validation procedures

• Advanced Analytical skills and quantitative awareness

ADDITIONAL COMPETENCIES

• Microsoft certifications in Azure technologies is a plus.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, French is a plus

• High degree of autonomy, rigorous and structured

• Team player with strong communication skills and with a collaborative spirit
