🌱🌾 Biochar can transform the way we grow. 🌾🌱 Not only are we using biochar to remove carbon dioxide 🌳 , but we’re also finding ways to improve agriculture🌱, reducing the need for its expansion. ✨We’re excited to share a sneak peek of our ongoing field experiments! In the picture, you’ll see pod samples of two soybean plants 🌿 — one grown with biochar, and the other without. This is just one of many tests we’re conducting across different samples and soil types. 📸✨ Our research is showing promising results: ✅ Improved crop yields ✅ Enriched soil ✅ Resilience By increasing yields, biochar enables farmers to make the most of existing farmland, reducing the pressure to expand agricultural areas. And this is just the beginning! We’ll be unveiling more insights and findings from our experiments very soon. Stay tuned as we continue to explore the benefits of biochar across various soil types and farming practices. 🌱✨ May the yields be with you! ✨🌱 Biochar Today International Biochar Initiative Adrian Wons Robert Höglund #Biochar #Sustainability #Agriculture #SoilHealth #CarbonSequestration #FieldResearch #SustainableFarming #CDR #ExomadGreen

🌱 Biochar: One-Time Use, Lifetime Benefits 🌱 Thanks to the growing support for Carbon Dioxide Removal (CDR) initiatives, biochar is receiving the attention it deserve. Biochar offers a range of environmental and agricultural benefits that last long after a single application. Here’s how: Sequestration: Captures and stores carbon, reducing atmospheric CO2 levels. Biochar’s stable carbon structure locks away carbon for hundreds, even thousands, of years. Fertility: Enhances soil health by improving nutrient retention and structure. This one-time addition to soil creates long-lasting improvements, helping to make land more productive over the years. Emissions: Lowers greenhouse gas output by preventing the release of CO2 and methane that would result from burning or decomposing organic waste. Biochar is a powerful tool in our fight against climate change. Recycling: Converts organic waste into a valuable, sustainable resource. By transforming sustainable forestry residues, biochar production supports a circular economy. Yields: Boosts crop productivity by improving soil conditions. Farmers can see consistent improvements in crop yields season after season, thanks to biochar’s long-lasting effects. Water Conservation: Retains three times its weight in water, enhancing soil water retention by 30-50% compared to regular soil. This reduces irrigation needs and enhances drought resilience, especially in sandy or arid regions. Remediation: Cleans contaminated soils and reduces water pollution risks. Biochar binds to heavy metals and other pollutants, offering a long-term solution for soil and water health. CDR initiatives are paving the way for scalable, carbon-negative solutions like biochar by providing essential funding, research, and development support. These programs help bring technologies from the lab to the field, where they can have a real, measurable impact on climate change and sustainability. 🌍💚 Let’s continue to invest in and support innovative, sustainable solutions that not only address our current environmental challenges but also build a greener future. 🌿🌱 International Biochar Initiative Sebastian Manhart US Biochar Initiative Biochar Today #Biochar #Sustainability #CarbonSequestration #ClimateAction #WaterConservation #SoilHealth #CDR #CarbonRemoval #Agriculture

It was a pleasure to attend New York Climate Week🌆💫 Our shared mission to secure a livable climate 🏔 is complex and challenging, but being surrounded by so many inspiring minds was truly a motivation boost. 👌! Lets keep pushing forward! #ClimateWeekNYC #NetZero #Sustainability #ClimateAction #CDR
Climate Tech Professional Scaling Carbon Removal | Chief Growth Officer @ Carbonfuture | Startup to Scaleup | Digital Products
🍎 New York Climate Week captured the essence of its host city—always buzzing, never sleeping. Our shared mission to secure a continuously livable climate 🏔 is multifaceted, hairy, and sometimes strenuous. Being surrounded by brilliant, thoughtful people working on this mission was a motivation booster. Happy to share a few reflections from the whirlwind of meetings, panels, and spontaneous walks and talks🚶♂️🧠: 🔹 Walk while you talk: There are plenty of early movers whose actions you can emulate and build on. For example, Swiss Re's internal carbon levy incentivizes emissions reductions and funds durable carbon removal. Microsoft, Google, JPMorganChase, Autodesk, NextGen CDR, Milkywire, and many and increasingly more. 🔹 Carbon Removal is a required puzzle piece 🧩 to netzero: Achieving #netzero is like fixing a bathtub 🛀 — we must reduce the inflow (emissions) and build the drain (removal). Let’s not think sequentially but act on these required puzzle pieces in parallel. 🔹 Speak human: Climate work is full of jargon. Simplifying our message isn’t dumbing it down—it’s how we connect with those outside our bubble. Use stories, visuals, and comparisons, and save the big numbers for expert rooms that love to geek out and sweat the details. 🔹 The real competition is inaction: Let’s lift each other up and help one another learn at the speed we need. #Together 🔹 The Otter Government: Just like otters 🦦 play a key role in maintaining ecosystem health, governments can foster a private sector-led, government-enabled system. I love the image, Vanessa Z Chan, Noah Deich. And finally, Manhattan is walkable (and ever-surprising), and bagels ain't overrated! ❤️ Thank you for the insights and moments shared, and sorry I didn’t get to meet the other 10’000+ of you! Onward! #ClimateWeekNYC #NetZero #Sustainability #ClimateAction #CDR #Carbonremoval Carbonfuture

🌱 Can one product change revolutionize farming—and reduce the need for more farmland? 🌱 At Exomad Green, we had the pleasure of showcasing the power of biochar at the local agricultural fair, and the results left everyone amazed! 👩🌾👨🌾 We set up two plots—one enriched with biochar and the other left untreated. The difference? Incredible! 🌾 The biochar-treated soil held more moisture, improved plant health, and led to significantly higher yields. The best part? Higher yields mean **less farmland is needed**, allowing farmers to produce more without expanding their fields 🌿. Farmers and local leaders were thrilled to learn that biochar only needs to be applied **once in a lifetime**—a lasting solution for soil improvement and sustainability 🌍. This simple, powerful tool is making a real difference, helping farmers grow stronger crops and embrace a greener, more efficient future.
