Capacity Building at Blue Action Lab: We leverage our expertise to foster environmental sustainability and create educational and job opportunities in local communities. This specific program partnered with the Queen Conch Lab | FAU Harbor Branch Oceanographic Institute, the Bahamas National Trust The Island School, and Cape Eleuthera Institute, at Conservation Cove, to study and learn about conch aquaculture for restoration. This initiative was supported by Builders Vision and the Moore Charitable Foundation. What is our mission?  At Blue Action Accelerator, our early-stage investment platform, we offer financial investment and tailored operational support to prominent climate tech startups, entrepreneurs, and innovators. We aim to remove barriers for advanced climate technology during their testing and scaling phases by granting access to practical testing environments and living laboratories, along with a network of strategic partnerships. Our global partners are instrumental in turning our ideas and strategies into tangible results. By bringing their unique expertise, resources, and capabilities to the table, they play a crucial role in funding and implementing the solutions we develop. We recently traveled to Freeport, in The Bahamas, to meet members of Blue Action at Conservation Cove and discuss upcoming plans to help build businesses and restore ocean health, as well as to see their new conch farming program. While there, we also met anchor tenant Coral Vita who is growing resilient corals to restore reefs. Thanks for the tour! #ClimateWeekNYC Blue Action was proud to support the successful 7th session of The Ocean Innovators Platform during New York Climate Week on Tuesday, September 24th. This edition brought together an incredible lineup of global leaders. The event was organized by Blue Action funding partner, Fondation Prince Albert II de Monaco, in partnership with ClimateImpact, ChangeNOW, Builders Vision, Sustainable Ocean Alliance, World Economic Forum’s 1000 Ocean Startups, Blue Action and Solar Impulse Foundation. In His opening speech, HSH Prince Albert II of Monaco reminded the long-lasting commitment of His Foundation to protect the Ocean, emphasizing that “a healthy ocean is essential to human survival and it is time that we recognize the vast opportunities that it offers us”. Acknowledging that philanthropy alone will not be enough to tackle the challenges we face, the Sovereign Prince reaffirmed the importance to rethink our societies and our economic models if we want to secure a sustainable future. He concluded reminding that “We have the tools, the knowledge and the innovations, we must now need the collective will to bring these solutions to scale.”   Two round tables gathered thought leaders to share their insights on transformative changes and innovative strategies that drives a sustainable blue economy. The first high-level panel aimed to “Pave the way for the regenerative blue economy” with insights from HRH Princess Reema Bandar Al-Saud and was the occasion to explore the vital intersections of ocean, climate, and business, mapping a visionary future for ocean-based industries.    The second one gathered successful changemakers, as Daniela V. Fernandez - Sustainable Ocean Alliance, Geoff Chapin - Carbonwave, Steven Henderson - Fleetzero , and Svanika Balasubramanian at rePurpose Global, shedding a light on groundbreaking innovative companies revolutionizing the blue economy and on investment opportunities offered by the ocean space. #takeblueaction #climatesolutions #OceanInnovatorsPlatform #FPA2Events #OIP #BlueEconomy

As official nominators of The Earthshot Prize, we’re thrilled to share the exciting news of this year's cohort of finalists. The 2024 finalists were chosen from nearly 2,500 nominations across 139 countries, marking the largest nomination pool to date. In the "Revive Our Oceans" category, we are proud to highlight three incredible companies leading the charge for ocean restoration: 1. High Ambition Coalition for Nature and People is a global alliance of 119 countries aiming to protect 30% of the planet's land and oceans by 2030, addressing technical and financial gaps. 2. MiAlgae offers a circular economy solution by using whisky by-products to grow microalgae as a sustainable Omega-3 source for aquaculture. 3. Coast 4C is a social enterprise that empowers marginalized coastal communities in the Philippines by creating a regenerative seaweed supply chain to lift them out of poverty.
