  • Happy Norooz from BDP Quadrangle🌸💐🌷🌺 Last week, we had the joy of celebrating Norooz at our studio, welcoming the Iranian New Year 1404! The celebration was filled with delicious traditional Iranian food, a live musical performance, and a deeper look into the rich history and traditions of Norooz. For over 3,000 years, Nowruz has been a time of reflection and celebration across Iran, Central Asia, and beyond. Rooted in traditions that symbolize new beginnings, the holiday brings families and communities together through spring cleaning, festive meals, and gift-giving. A key part of the celebration is the Haft-Seen, a beautifully arranged table with seven symbolic items—each representing rebirth, prosperity, health, love, joy, and wisdom. These respectively include sprouted grains (sabzeh), sweet pudding (samanu), dried fruits (senjed), vinegar (serkeh), apples (seeb), sumac (somāq), and garlic (seer). Swipe through to see our Haft-Seen spread at the studio and photos from our celebration last week! #HaftSeen #Norooz #PersianNewYear #Norooz1404 #HappyNorooz #BDPQuadrangle

  • Designing a world that’s built for good. It’s our priority. Advocating for long-term change starts with us. That’s why we’re proud to share that we are now a carbon-neutral organization, having met our commitment to neutralize Scope 1 and 2 emissions through verified high-quality carbon offsets and habitat restoration. Tackling the climate crisis means embracing innovation, conservation, and collaboration. We’re taking a climate-positive approach not just to what we design, but how we design. This is our commitment to the future: carbon neutral today, net zero by 2045. Learn more about our ESG commitments: https://loom.ly/8Txj-Qc

  • We’re thrilled to share that Craft Residences has officially broken ground on Dundas Street West, marking a major step forward in bringing thoughtfully designed midrise living to Toronto’s Junction neighbourhood. Designed with care and community in mind for our client Gairloch Developments, Craft adds much-needed density while celebrating the area’s distinct artisan spirit. The 9-storey building will bring 87 custom-crafted residences, along with a new mid-block pedestrian connection that will improve walkability and accessibility. Local designers have been engaged to create bespoke features throughout, adding a distinct and tailored character to the building. Residents will enjoy co-working spaces, a family lounge, and a fitness centre—all designed to foster connection and well-being. Richard Witt, Principal at BDP Quadrangle, was featured in yesterdays’ Globe and Mail discussing the rapid growth of Vaughan Metropolitan Centre (VMC) and our landmark project, CG Tower—Expo 5. This 60-storey tower is a collaborative vision between BDP Quadrangle and Cortel Group, designed as the capstone to the Expo City development, redefining the skyline north of Toronto with a bold architectural presence and a focus on community-driven urban design. Distinct from the glass-clad high-rises typically seen in the Greater Toronto Area, CG Tower features a striking façade of precast brick panels with embedded windows, giving the exterior a warm, residential character. The design incorporates stacked, cantilevered boxes that create a dynamic, stepped profile. These cantilevers, carefully designed by BDP Quadrangle, add visual rhythm to the façade and break up the tower’s verticality while offering expanded terraces for residents. These terraces are thoughtfully programmed with a variety of amenities, fostering a sense of community and transforming the tower into a vertical neighbourhood, complete with shared spaces for relaxation, gatherings, and activities. Oriented to face Edgeley Pond Park, the cantilevers maximize natural light and scenic views, reinforcing a seamless connection between the built environment and natural heritage. In his interview, Richard Witt emphasizes how CG Tower embodies BDP Quadrangle’s vision for modern, sustainable, and inclusive urban living. While the tower’s striking design makes a bold architectural statement, its true impact lies in its focus on fostering human connection. The design prioritizes walkability, community engagement, and a welcoming public realm, supporting the transformation of VMC from a suburban landscape into a vibrant, pedestrian-friendly city centre. Check out the article to learn more about the exciting developments shaping VMC and our role in redefining the future of this new city centre: https://loom.ly/q9p1FHg Note: This article is behind a paywall. #BDPQuadrangle #Architecture #UrbanDesign #CGTower #CommunityEngagement #Cortelgroup #VaughanMetropolitanCentre #Sustainability #RichardWitt #PlaceMaking

  • Located in the heart of Yorkville’s “Mink Mile”, 110 Bloor Street West redefines luxury through contemporary design. In partnership with UNStudio, we worked with our client, ProWinko, to transform the building’s three-storey retail podium. This renovation honours the building’s legacy while introducing a fresh, modern identity, highlighting our expertise in adaptive reuse and retail innovation.   Our goal was to revitalize the building’s façade, enhance retail functionality and attract high-profile tenants. To achieve this, we installed custom-designed modular metal frames fabricated with precision-bent panels sourced from The Netherlands. This innovative solution provides flexible tenant configurations and ensures adaptability for future retail needs, all while delivering a visually striking and cohesive aesthetic that sets a new standard for retail design in Yorkville. A standout feature of the renovation is the upgraded rear entrance on Cumberland Street, now featuring a sleek glass “jewel box.” This entrance, home to Mandy’s Gourmet Salads, provides an inviting access point at grade that seamlessly connects Yorkville Park enhancing the overall accessibility and appeal of the location.   Stay tuned for more recently completed project updates featured in our new #spotlightseries!   Video by: Industryous Photography    #Yorkville #TorontoLuxury #Yorkvillevillage #MinkMile #ArchitecturalExcellence #ModernDesign #retaildesign #SustainableArchitecture #torontolife #BloorStreet #RetailArchitecture #LuxuryRetail

We were honoured to participate in the Interior Design Show (IDS) 2025, and are delighted to share the success of our guest suite installation for "Night & Day: The Evolution of Hotel Design." This project reimagines the hotel bedroom as a dynamic, adaptable space that seamlessly transitions between day and night, enhancing the guest experience with smart lighting, sound, and ambiance controls. Our 16x15-foot installation was thoughtfully designed around a central washroom, creating a dual framework layout that defines the distinct “night” and “day” configurations. Customizable technology was also highlighter to offer a personalized guest experience. With a focus on sustainable materials, cork was used as a design feature, integrated into the walls, floors, furniture, and lighting, conceptualizing how a low carbon material can be used for hospitality interiors. Jessica Goldberg, Senior Interior Designer, and Marcella Au, Retail and Interiors Lead and Senior Associate at BDP Quadrangle, also had the amazing opportunity to present at IDS, sharing insights into the design process of our installation and the future of hospitality-driven interiors.  We are incredibly grateful to our dedicated team members,  Jessica Goldberg, Marcella Au, Catherine Kurz, Alexa Krutzler, Kathy Roudsary,  who worked tirelessly on-site, and valued industry partners for their generosity, expertise, and continuous support throughout this journey. We also extend our sincere appreciation to the Interior Design Show (IDS) for their collaboration in making this opportunity possible. Our successful showcase at IDS 2025 reflects BDP Quadrangle’s ongoing commitment to innovation and excellence in interior design.
