It’s great to see the leadership by Outokumpu and Anglo American, who demonstrate that customers do want sustainably produced nickel and suppliers are willing to report their carbon footprint and ESG credentials.   As we continue to progress the clean energy transition, greater transparency and higher ESG standards across the supply chain will become the norm. Platforms like Metalshub, using the London Metal Exchange’s guidance of 20 tonnes of CO2 or less per tonne of nickel as the starting low-carbon threshold, provide the perfect opportunity for customers to manage their scope three emissions.   Read more: https://lnkd.in/gMJ6RPXi

🌟 Celebrating International Women's Day by honouring three remarkable women making significant contributions in STEM fields! 🚀 Dr. Shahzad Ghanbarian: Researcher and health economist at The University of British Columbia’s Centre for Clinical Epidemiology & Evaluation, and lead modeler on pioneering research about tailoring antidepressant choices with pharmacogenomic testing. Her model has shown that implementing pharmacogenomic testing in BC for adult patients with moderate to severe major depressive disorder could save the health system $956 million over the next 20 years, while also bringing substantial health gains. Dr. Rachel Simister: President of 3R Circuits, an industrial biotech company developing industry-focused solutions for the processing of strategic metals found in complex ore bodies, in the Earth’s crust and low-grade deposits. She is also a co-founder of Discovery Genomics Ltd, a company that enables resource discovery with genomics and data analytics, building upon her work with microbial communities and mineral deposits. Her research interests span the broad fields of microbiology and molecular biology, and she leverages genomics in a broad range of applications to create nature-based solutions to challenges in the mineral resource sector. Dr. Simister stands out both as a researcher and entrepreneur, bringing innovation to the biotech industry. Norma Biln: CEO and co-founder of Augurex Life Sciences Corp. a commercial-stage biotechnology company. Under her leadership, Augurex's flagship 14-3-3η blood test portfolio is transforming the clinical management of autoimmune diseases.
