Award-winning material science company on a mission to enable a massive material transition
About us
Cellulose is the most abundant organic compound on earth. Completely renewable, we believe it has tremendous untapped potential for our economic future and our environment. Cellulotech is a company focused on R&D with a patent portfolio. We develop new materials and industrial processes around chromatogeny, a green chemistry process discovered by our Chief Scientist Daniel Samain. Chromatogeny can offer barriers to water, oil, grease, vapour and/or oxygen to cellulosic substrates while preserving all the recyclability, compostability and biodegradability properties. This opens a world of new sustainable and competitive materials to several industries such as packaging, healthcare, fashion or construction.

🌍 Microplastics: Where is the Marshall plan? 🧠 The latest research reveals alarming evidence that microplastics could be accumulating in our brains, posing severe risks to human health. Twenty-four brain samples collected in early 2024 measured on average about 0.5% plastic by weight. This is madness! We can also wonder how it impacts our cognitive abilities and the prevalence of neurodegenerative disorders. Liability risk is mounting for all the companies involved that do not work hard to fix it. As we confront this emerging threat, it's hard not to ask: where is the 21st-century equivalent of the Marshall Plan for our environment? 🌱 Well-intended regulations are not enough. It's time for decisive, coordinated global action to tackle this issue. We cannot afford to wait any longer! 🌐💡 #Microplastics #EnvironmentalHealth #GlobalAction #Sustainability #Cellulocene

Patents incoming! Intellectual property is vital to us and has been at the center of our strategy. We are therefore extremely pleased to announce we have received over the past couple of months several notices of allowance for three of our patents in several jurisdictions. This validates the excellent work of our Chief Scientist Daniel Samain and clears the path toward the commercialization of our process in a near future.
