Of all the spaces in the City of Calgary, few are more iconic than Studio Bell National Music Centre (NMC). The NMC is the gateway to the city’s East Village ― delicately unifying the past and future. The stunning five-story building is equal parts museum, performance venue, classroom, and studio. The architecture’s unique design stretches up and over the street, where two towers connect via a 60-foot-high thoroughfare. At the street level, musicians and guests can celebrate the reconstruction of the legendary King Edward Hotel (locally known as the King Eddy), which now serves as a venue and restaurant, while also offering spaces for artists in residence. The NMC is the first facility of its kind in North America, and working together as associate architects with Allied Works, the prime Design Architect, we (the architectural team), wanted to set the bar high. 📚City Council ratified ‘Inspire’ as the anchor name for Airdrie’s new Multi-Use and Library Facility during a special Council meeting held today. The name ‘Inspire’ will be accompanied by the sponsor’s name, which will be finalized later this summer. View more details on www.airdrie.ca/newsroom.

Last week, some members of City Council, board of directors at the Airdrie Public Library and the project team visit the Airdrie Multi-Use and Library Facility. Here are pictures of all the progress that has been made on the steel structure so far, which is coming together very quickly!

The Brookfield Properties Calgary team has looked forward to today for the past several months as we officially open the doors to our newest tenant amenities space, Bond at Bankers Hall. After hosting the building’s tenants and local real estate brokers at a preview event last week, it’s apparent Bond at Bankers Hall sets a new standard for premier amenity space in our city, befitting the iconic Bankers Hall complex which has been a pillar of Calgary’s downtown business core since the first tower was completed 35 years ago. The space was designed and constructed by the talented teams at Kasian Architecture Interior Design and Planning and CANA Group of Companies and thoughtfully responds to the evolving needs of a modern workforce who values a workplace that seamlessly integrates connection, community, and wellness into their workday. As we wrap up nearly a year of complex construction and transition to the operation of the tenant lounge, fitness centre and conference facility, I am excited for the tenants of Bankers Hall, Bankers Court, and the Royal Bank Building to embrace the space and make it their own. Our Brookfield Properties team has done a tremendous job showing great leadership in bringing this project to life, and can all be extremely proud of the outcome. Bond at Bankers Hall is a tangible example of how collaboration and strong teams produce excellence.
