📢 Big news for the future of health care in Edmonton! As included in Budget 2025, the Government of Alberta announced a $2 million investment in planning for new inpatient towers at both the Grey Nuns and Misericordia community hospitals. This funding is a critical step toward adding much-needed acute care beds and ensuring patients receive high-quality care closer to home. We're grateful for the commitment and support for continuing our mission to serve Albertans with compassionate, high-quality care. Stay tuned for more updates as we work toward building better outcomes for Albertans! 🏗️

A hidden talent brightens St. Mary’s Hospital! 🎨❄️ What started as a festive touch for her department has turned into a warm winter welcome for all who visit St. Mary’s Hospital in Camrose. When staff scheduling clerk Keltie Castle painted a cheerful holiday gnome on the rural staffing office window, her artistry quickly caught the attention of colleagues across the hospital. Soon, site administrator Stacey Brewster asked Keltie if she would bring her talents to the main entrance, creating a seasonal mural to lift the spirits of patients and visitors. “I wanted it to be fun, uplifting and cheerful,” Keltie shares. After a full day of painting, her beautiful Winter Welcome scene was complete. While painting is mostly a hobby, Keltie has been honing her craft for years and is proud to have recently sold some of her work. St. Mary’s is lucky to have her creativity on display! 👏

According to a report by the CSA Group, the number of older Canadians belonging to a racialized group is projected to grow from 1 in 7 today to approximately 1 in 4 by 2041.💡 Equitable access to healthcare, housing and social services is a right, not a privilege. Our policies must reflect that. We need targeted support programs for vulnerable populations, such as low-income seniors, on- and off-reserve Indigenous persons and those in rural or remote areas.
