I had a great time the Green Sports Alliance summit at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles. Meeting new and old friends and colleagues, and talking in person with folks I've only met on Zoom previously. There was a certain buzz at this impressive gathering of around 800 professionals passionate about sports and sustainability, enjoying a truly diverse line up of speakers! Some highlights: 🔌 Launch of the Energy Decarbonization Playbook, with D'Niche Inc. being one of the contributors. Download the book here: https://lnkd.in/gVAD2Q53 🏀 Discussions about how athletes should be part of the sport and sustainability equation 👍 The announcement of Chris Paul as a new board member at the GSA was a great way to lead by example! 🏟 Site visits to SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park, and Crypto.com Arena. Opening party right on the floor where the LA Lakers normally play! 🎸 Fantastic to see several sessions on the similarities and the opportunities for collaboration between sport, entertainment and live music sectors. ♻ circularity, waste management and reuse, including the launch of the new Playbook on how to implement systems for reusing cups and plates, event signage, branding and donation of surplus food. 😎 🔌 AY Young's performance - it was brilliant! Thanks for the show, and hope to see you next year!

The new EF Techzine provides a Sustainability deep-dive with 26 articles. Sailatha Theagaraj and I authored an article with five easy-to-implement strategies to reduce environmental impact from building in use. These strategies are taken from the green building operations program delivered at buildings used for the FIFA World Cup. The magazine is published by Engineers Forum, the peak body for engineers from Kerala, India working in Qatar. One of the highlights over the past ten years of my career working in a very multi-cultural environment has been to learn from so many amazing professionals from India.
