‘Trash to Treasure’: Recycled Medals Lead Sustainability Drive at World Aquatics Championships – Singapore 2025 https://lnkd.in/eEHgdb9a In a landmark move for sustainable sport, the World Aquatics Championships – Singapore 2025 will feature medals made entirely from recycled aluminium cans, thanks to the newly launched ‘Trash to Treasure’ initiative. This project will see approximately 100,000 cans collected and transformed into 5,000 medals for both the World Aquatics Championships and the World Aquatics Masters Championships—a first in the event’s history. Green Football’s Great Save: Tackling Waste and Championing Sustainability in Sport https://lnkd.in/enuFbjJB In a groundbreaking initiative, Green Football has launched The Great Save, a nationwide campaign uniting the UK football community to combat climate change by keeping sports kits in circulation for longer. With an estimated 100,000 tonnes of sportswear ending up in UK landfills each year—equivalent to 951 football shirts discarded every minute—the campaign seeks to raise awareness and promote sustainable practices in sport.
