À propos

17 Sport is a sports impact company operating at the intersection of sports, business, and purpose. We enable progressive organizations, properties, and athletes to bring their organizational purpose to life, internally and externally, through sports and drive positive financial, social, and environmental outcomes. Why? Humanity is demanding more. A new generation calls for more from governments and business, urging them to come together and build a more just and sustainable society. Consumers are educated, motivated, and savvy. They demand that leaders take meaningful action - and data shows they will reward those that do, and punish those that don’t.

💡🗣 “If you want to go further, you need to go together—so working in partnership, learning from each other, and sharing information about successes and challenges is integral if we want to address the social and environmental challenges our world currently faces.” - Georgie Young, Account Director, 17 Sport 🌟🏟 Following a series of sports-themed talks at the 2024 JEC World Summit, the JEC Group once again collaborated with Global Sports Week to bring industry leaders together at their World Summit last week. 🥇✨ 17 Sport’s Georgie Young joined Georgina Grenon, Environmental Excellence Director at Paris 2024 - Comité d'organisation des Jeux Olympiques et Paralympiques de 2024, and Lucien Boyer, Chairman and Co-Founder of Global Sports Week in sharing their insights on sustainability and innovation in the sports industry. 🤝💬 Moderating the session, Georgie set the scene by outlining that the “challenge that brings us together [...] is sustainable transformation and practices in the sports industry. How can we learn from each other to go further? How can we work together to create change?” Our key takeaways? 🪄 Major sporting events like the Olympics require a mindset of creativity, responsibility, and opportunity organization-wide. 📈 When striving for sustainability, it’s important to note that every action taken affects the event’s overall positive or negative impact. 🌱 Sustainable efforts can actually save money, and, as in the case of Paris 2024, many sponsors will choose to come on board due to a demonstrated commitment to sustainability. 🔥 Even key event pillars and traditions can be shifted or improved to meet environmental goals, like how our client EDF designed and implemented a flame made of backlit water mist for Paris 2024’s Olympic Flame. 👥🌀 This impactful conversation came at an important time in our world where sustainability and positive progress are increasingly politicized. 🙏🙌 Thank you to Global Sports Week and the JEC Group for hosting such an important conversation. It was a pleasure to share the stage with Georgina Grenon—and of course, a huge shoutout to Georgie Young for moderating this session. Collectively, we can maintain relentless optimism for the future of sustainable sports. 📸 Photo credit: JEC Group / Global Sports WeekMarie Jaillant Bosse Lucie Lapierre

👏✨Congratulations to our client EDF on being awarded Sponsor of the Year at last week’s SPORSORA awards at the Paris adidas arena. 🏊♀️🚵♂️ A well-deserved award for this spectacular project team who worked for years to activate this partnership with the aim of having a positive impact on: - Learning to swim to avoid the risk of drowning, - Changing the way people look at disability, - A more responsible sports practice - As well as, EDF's contribution to the unique Paris 2024 festival (Carrés des Supporters), and with the 100% electric Cauldron as a symbol of these Games. 🌿🌍 A sustainability leader in French sports, we are proud of our contribution to promote EDF’s commitment to helping solve societal and environmental issues through sport, especially with their innovative and active commitment during the Paris 2024 Games. 🙌🤸 Thank you to the entire EDF team. Let’s go 2025! 🧢 Raphael Ostré

🏆 This week, our CEO Neill Duffy presented at the UEFA Executive Master for International Players (UEFA MIP), a unique program to prepare players for their post-athletic careers. ⚽️ The UEFA MIP gives footballers accustomed to winning trophies on the field a toolkit for success in sports administration and management after their playing days. Neill was invited to speak to them about the intersection between sports, sustainability, and purpose. 🗣️ “They intrinsically understand sport's superpower to solve some of the world's most pressing challenges, and immediately understood the power of purpose to add value dimension to sponsorship.” - Neill Duffy, 17 Sport CEO 💥 After his presentation, Neill asked the players to turn the theory of purpose-led sponsorship marketing into practical examples they could use in their future journeys. He said the ideas they came up with were ones he would be proud to put in front of our 17 Sport clientele. 🗣️ “The future is in good hands when these talented former players take the reigns off the field.” - Neill Duffy, 17 Sport CEO ⭐️ A huge congratulations to UEFA Training for creating this invigorating opportunity for players, and to Neill’s co-presenters Guillaume Sabran and Adrian Farina!

📈 🌟 It's a new year, which means new trends for sports sponsorships. 17 Sport's own Fabien Paget spoke about what this means for women's sports and sustainability at this week's European Sponsorship Association (ESA) panel. The event was sold out—you can read all about it in Fabien's post below! ⬇️

CoFounder & CEO 17 Sport - Sport, Business & Purpose. B-Corp certified on a mission to accelerate the transformation of the business of Sport into a force for good.

Thank you European Sponsorship Association (ESA) and Sophie M. for inviting 17 Sport alongside inspiring leaders yesterday Jessica Glover, Matthew Cowling and Sam Piccione III. 💡It was a privilege to share my thoughts on the future of #womensport and #sustainability as we look ahead to 2025. Here are my key takeaways: 🌍 Sustainability isn’t just good for the planet, it’s good for #business. 👉 The business of sport is increasingly exposed to #Climatechange - cancelled @NBA and NCAA games due to LA wildfires, hurricane damage to stadiums like the Tampa Bay Rays. The cost? A cancelled Premier League game costs $3.6M and NFL stadiums face $11B in climate-related risks by 2025. 👉 People realize that they will be held accountable for empty promises and that the real work of process transformation is ‘expensive’ -although lower compared to the cost of inaction.  👉 The idea of fundamentally rethinking how we do business is also scary - but that’s exactly what is required to see our industry grow. Ultimately #Sustainability remains a key area for growth : 👉 Younger fans are prioritising sustainability in their engagement with sport.  87% of 18–34yo fans are willing to pay higher ticket prices to support environmental benefits. 👉 80% of sports fans and 96% of sports professionals agree that sport greatly influence behaviour change. 👉 65% of sports professionals agree that a comprehensive purpose-led strategy drives brand relevance, increased commercial revenue, talent retention and acquisition and stronger fan engagement. 🏟️ Women’s Sport: Building a New Playbook I believe Women’s sport is one of the greatest levers we have to change the perception and treatment of #women and #girls in society. 👉Beyond creating good business returns, investing in women’s sports drives societal change, creates equitable opportunities for women athletes and set up young girls for success.  👉 Girls who play become women who lead. In a recent Deloitte study, 85% of surveyed women who played sports said the skills they developed on the field were important to success in their careers - 91% for women in leadership roles. 👉 According to Deloitte Chair Lara Abrash, 93% of brand decision-makers are optimistic about its future, with women’s sports revenues expected to grow from $1B in 2023 to $23B by 2033. Women’s sport is at an inflexion point with still challenges to build sustainable growth: 👉 We need to have people who wake up every single day 100% focused on women’s sports. It cannot be an afterthought in a system that prioritises men. 63% of fans believe women’s sports benefit by being governed by a separate entity from men’s. 👉 It requires a new #playbook. Women’s sports can avoid replicating the traditional model used in men’s sports by embracing purpose & addressing the challenges women are facing. 👉 Be strategic rather than opportunistic to make the most of this opportunity and create a positive impact on brand relevance & employee engagement.
