Another generous monetary donation turned into water for the folks who need it most. 💙💚 The temperatures may not be quite as extreme, but we always need to help people stay hydrated no matter what time of year it is. We're also going to start needing warm clothes and other goods to keep people comfortable in the coming months. Have you met members of our 'CONNECT' team walking around downtown?⁠ ⁠ These team members are highly recognizable, approachable, and friendly! Their mandate is to engage with all community members, and they are trained to recognize community needs, introducing appropriate resources to those who need them. ⁠ ⁠ Say hello when you see them next! Smiles and waves go a long way to showing our teams how appreciated they are!⁠

We are deeply saddened by the loss of Assembly of Manitoba Chiefs Grand Chief Cathy Merrick. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences go out to her family, friends, and the community she served with such dedication. As a courageous leader and advocate, she inspired us to listen more deeply and embrace the stories that shape us. Her legacy of fostering unity between Indigenous and non-Indigenous Manitobans will continue to guide and inspire us all.

Come fog, snow, sleet, or rain, DSCP is on the streets keeping downtown Winnipeg awesome for everyone! If you are aware of a non-emergency situation of distress or disturbance in the downtown area, please engage the DCSP for follow-up at 204-947-DCSP (3277). We'll be there to help.

We have had such an incredible summer. Community events, root beer floats (at the Delta!), so many laughs, and heaps of fun! Thank you to everyone who has had us at an event, offered a hand, and kept the smiles flowing this summer.

We want to send a MASSIVE thank you to Amie and her crew at The Community Gym for throwing an incredible eventin support of DCSP. They packed Blue Cross Park full for a group workout class on the field to raise funds for US! With generous support from Brite Water, Empty Cup COllective, Commonwealth Winnipeg, Drink Sense MB, and Lavanda Winnipeg it was a massive success and a ton of fun. Thank you all so, so much for what you do for our downtown community and for DCSP. 💚💙

It's September long weekend, a ceremonial end to another lovely Manitoba summer. If you're staying in the city this weekend, please remember that we're here for you if you need us. Thank you Mottola Grocery. You guys are just the best. 💙💚 Building relationships with businesses is a big part of what DCSP does. They provide us with valuable donations to redistrubute throughout the community, but they also help us know what's going on. DCSP teams make a focused effort to connect with downtown workers - to say hello, see if they have any concerns, or if they’ve noticed any new patterns or changes to downtown wellbeing in their day-to-day routines. When businesses let us know about something they’ve noticed, this information becomes an important piece in our ‘data-driven’ puzzle, giving us insight in directing teams to provide greater presence at certain locations, and/or at certain times. This helps us have as much impact as possible in our mission of a safe, healthy, and connected downtown. So thank you to Mottola Grocery and all of the wonderful businesses who care so passionately about the downtown community. We love you!
