It is so rewarding to see the progress at the Catalyst construction site. From the third floor the views are already incredible; you can start to picture just how transformative this project will be for the Junction and for the science community in Toronto. The start of construction on a new Pedestrian and Cyclist Bridge designed to improve connectivity across Whitemud Drive in Edmonton, Alberta has begun. With DIALOG providing Architecture, Structural and Electrical Engineering, Landscape Architecture, and Public Engagement services, the new bridge will provide a safer and more convenient crossing for non-motorized users over a busy road, enhancing overall access and connectivity in the area. DIALOG and the Michael Evamy Scholarship Board of Trustees are pleased to offer the 2024 Michael Evamy Scholarship to Jonah Kurylowich, Dalhousie University Bachelor of Environmental Design and Architecture graduate and Master of Architecture candidate. Kurylowich was selected from a field of candidates across Canada with his research titled, “Architecture and Crisis: Analyzing the Spatialization of Perceived Threats Through Emergency Response Infrastructure” – a thesis aimed at studying the role that architecture plays in emergency response. The Michael Evamy Scholarship was established by DIALOG and provides the opportunity for a Canadian student to undertake a research project in a field of interest to them relevant to the practice of architecture. Upon completion of the study, Kurylowich will present his findings in 2025. Congratulations, Jonah!
