    Today is Halloween! 🎃 Observed annually on October 31, Halloween is a holiday with pagan and religious roots, now celebrated with a mix of non-religious traditions. Originating from the ancient Celtic festival of Samhain, Halloween marked the Celtic New Year and the onset of winter. The Celts believed that on this day, the souls of the dead returned home, prompting them to light bonfires and wear masks to ward off evil spirits. When the Romans conquered the Celts, they incorporated their own traditions, and later on, the Christian church established All Saints’ Day on November 1, blending pagan and Christian practices. Today, Halloween is known for its spooky costumes, jack-o’-lanterns, and trick-or-treating, a tradition brought to North America by Irish immigrants in the 19th century. This holiday continues to evolve, mixing ancient customs with modern festivities, making it a time for community, fun, and a touch of fright. Happy Halloween! 👻 #Halloween #HappyHalloween #Holiday
