The Canadian Renewable Energy Association (CanREA)'s Electricity Transformation Canada Conference brings together key actors in the renewable energy sector. Once again this year, we are pleased to be presenting on topics critical to the energy transition. Specifically: ⚡ Philippe Dunsky will deliver keynote remarks on clean electricity’s critical role in Canada’s energy transition, what the unprecedented demand in clean electricity growth means for the sector, and what Canada must do to harness its potential. 📊 Ben Kujala will present on the challenges of fragmented Canadian data for renewable and storage costs, highlighting Dunsky's outlook on the cost trajectory of key clean energy technologies, as well as considerations for providing accurate market estimates critical for planning and policy development. ☀️ Anirudh Kshemendranath will discuss how increasing the adoption of solar PV is putting into question traditional net energy metering approaches, highlighting the role that Value of DER studies can play in shaping fair solar compensation mechanisms. We look forward to reconnecting with clients and peers next week in Calgary! Conference website: https://lnkd.in/eNt_n5Si #renewables #energytransition #Dunsky

☀️ Solar PV is an energy transition success story, but the traditional one-size-fits-all Net Energy Metering (NEM) paradigm is showing its age as the industry increasingly focuses on the value DERs bring to the grid. Dunsky has tackled this problem for utilities, regulators and customer groups, and knows that these (sometimes at odds) organizations can be brought to the table – if the right approach is used. In our second of three articles for Utility Dive, we explore how a Value of Distributed Energy Resources (VDER) framework fosters productive conversations by providing a data-driven, transparent solution that fairly compensates DERs for their contributions to the grid while minimizing cross-subsidization. What happens when you get 60+ clean energy experts in a room to discuss the future of the energy transition? Deep conversations, bold ideas and…extreme puzzling? 🧩 This was the scene at Dunsky’s annual retreat, where our team spent two days connecting, planning, and discussing how to best support our clients. Inspired by this year’s Paris Games 🔥 , we ended the retreat with a “Dunsky-Olympics” where teams bonded over kayaking, volleyball, billiards, pickleball, line dancing and extreme puzzling. After two days of team building and strategizing, our team is recharged and excited to continue doing the work that we love – accelerating the energy transition and making an impact .⚡ #Dunsky #retreat #energytransition

What a night! ✨ We were thrilled to see so many familiar faces at an intimate gathering in Montreal to celebrate Dunsky’s 20th anniversary. Surrounded by our team, alumni, clients and friends of the firm, we reflected on the progress we’ve seen over the last 20 years. While there’s lots to be done, it’s clear that the energy transition is in full swing and that the economic, community and environmental benefits of a low-carbon economy are finally taking shape. The evening left us grateful for all that we’ve accomplished together and inspired for the road ahead. From a team of one in 2004 to a team of 62 professionals across North America (and a family, including alumni, of over 100 around the world), it’s been a great (sustainable 😉) ride. Here’s to the next 20 years of impact, collaboration and progress! 🌎🚀🤝 #CleanEnergy #Bcorp #Anniversary #EnergyTransition #ThankYou

The energy transition requires the rapid growth of clean electricity. As this takes shape, how will this electricity growth agenda impact Ontario and the rest of the Canadian economy? At the Ontario Energy Conference on September 23rd, our president Philippe Dunsky will deliver the opening keynote address, discussing the implications of electricity’s expansion, and what it means for: 💼 Essential investments and reforms ⚡New Power and promising areas for capital and talent allocation 🏢 🚗 Heating and transportation sectors, and the tough (and not so tough) choices ahead 📊Managing peak demand ⚖️ Balancing progress with affordability for consumers We hope to see many of you next week and look forward to connecting at this year’s conference. See you there! View this year's program: https://lnkd.in/g9tv3et8

The energy transition challenges the utility sector like nothing we’ve known in the last half century. ⚡ “Those that emerge successfully will have done the hard work upfront to know where they want to go, avoid dead-end detours, step outside of narrow boxes, and keep focusing on their customers’ – and society’s – evolving needs.” So says our founder, Philippe Dunsky, in this first of three articles published in Utility Dive focused on the monumental challenges facing North American utilities and the keys to success.
