In areas with sandy and gravelly soil, construction can be challenging due to the unstable nature of loose sand and gravel. GeoSolv offers a variety of solutions for loose sandy soils including Rapid Impact Compaction, Geopier Impact, Geopier dX1 to create stable foundations in these soil profiles. And when those loose soils are in seismic zones with water, liquefaction can be of concern. In fact, due to the changes in code, the math on liquefaction is sometimes showing this as an issue to address even in places like Toronto. Liquefaction mitigation using Geopier techniques provide great benefit for sandy soils. In sands that are silty, the power of vertical ramming energy is superior to methods that simply just vibrate the soil. We bring to bear the worldwide experience of Geopier, who have provided liquefaction mitigation in places like San Francisco, Vancouver, and Christchurch, NZ. Let us help you avoid that "sinking feeling"! #GeoSolv #TheGroundImprovementPeople

Trevor Jeffs started at Geosolv in 2017 as a Heavy Equipment Operator. He's a pro at running all the machinery at the company and also looks out for his fellow workers as a Union Steward and Worker Health and Safety Representative. When he's not at work, Trevor likes to ride motorcycles and go fishing. He's a devoted dad to his son Max and his stepchildren. Trevor brings a ton of experience to his job, especially from working with big Kelly drills at the Diavik Diamond Mine in the Northwest Territories. At Geosolv, he's a jack-of-all-trades; he's great at running machines, helping to fix them, and he's a top-notch welder. Plus, Trevor's awesome at teaching others how to run machines and weld, and he's always there to help out. #MeetTheSolvrs #TheGroundImprovementPeople #GeoSolv

While GeoSolv specializes in ground improvement, sometimes piling is the right answer for the job. One of the hallmarks of our consultative approach is that we will give you the right approach, and not force fit an incorrect solution. Piling systems are used to create strong foundations in challenging soil conditions. They come in prefabricated or cast-in-place types and allow for rapid and efficient construction. Prefabricated piles are made of metal or concrete and driven into the ground, while cast-in-place systems are constructed on-site. Some piling systems combine prefabricated components with grout for specific applications. Ask us about the types of piling systems we offer to help with those projects where ground improvement may not be the right answer. As always, we will help you find the right solution for your challenging soil, even if its not one of ours. #GeoSolv #TheGroundImprovementPeople

Improving the strength of the ground offers several positive impacts: 1) It allows us to utilize land that was previously unsuitable (brownfields), thereby enabling more effective land use and the preservation of natural areas ("greenfields") 2) Enhancing ground stability extends the lifespan of buildings and roads, reducing the frequency of repairs or replacements and benefiting the environment. 3) Ground Improvement eliminates deep foundations or dig-replace for poor soil sites, reducing the embodied carbon on a project By working smart, not hard and taking advantage of the existing soil on site, no matter how poor or unsuitable it may be for construction, leads to positive outcomes for the overall project. Stay tuned for more about ways GeoSolv is working to reduce our footprint to do our part to safeguard the environment through underground innovation in the built environment #GeoSolv #TheGroundImprovementPeople #NetZero #Sustainability #EcoFriendly #GreenBuilding

The use of Geotextiles and geogrids play a crucial role on some of our projects by reinforcing soil, improving its drainage capabilities, and effectively preventing erosion. These synthetic fabrics find extensive application in base stabilization for working pads, road construction and embankment stabilization projects, contributing significantly to the structures' overall stability and longevity. We love working with our friends at Tensar, a division of CMC to provide additional value on our projects. #GeoSolv #GeoTrivia #TheGroundImprovementPeople
