Employee expectations around mental health support in the workplace are changing. In a new survey from GreenShield, we found that mental health challenges were widespread in the workforce, with younger generations and marginalized groups feeling the pressure most acutely. This growing concern has led to a strong demand for more accessible, inclusive and culturally sensitive mental health benefits. 👉 1 in 3 Canadians said they’d quit their jobs for one offering better mental health benefits – a number that rose to over half for young workers and those from marginalized groups. 👉 Over two-thirds of Canadian employees said they’d grappled with stress, anxiety, and burnout in the past year – with women and young workers among those most affected. 👉 62% of employees said they believe it’s important that their therapist understands their cultural background, language, or religion. 👉 75% said they wanted more seamless access to coverage and care.
