About us

Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex is a non-profit, faith-based organization working for a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. Our mission is to engage volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting home ownership as a way to break the cycle of poverty. The HFHWE ReStore sells new and gently used building materials, appliances, and solid surface furniture that have been donated by strategic partners and individual donors in our community. Funds generated in our ReStore cover all of HFHWE's operating costs and a large portion of our construction costs - ensuring that every penny of every dollar donated goes to building projects right here in Windsor-Essex County.

  • A huge thank you to Allstate Canada LaSalle Branch for their continued support of Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex through the Good Hands Grant program—this marks the second time they've partnered with us! Their generous contribution will go directly toward the construction of affordable housing in Sandwich Towne, helping create brighter futures for families in core-housing need. In addition to financial support, the AllState team also volunteered at our ReStore, once again, assembling furniture and cabinetry that raises critical funds for our builds while offering high-quality items to our shoppers. • We're proud to continue our work in Sandwich Towne, contributing to the revitalization of this historic community. The recent excavation and foundation work on two homes on Peter St. are part of our commitment to providing affordable housing through the Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex partnership program. Additionally, the demolition of a derelict home on Brock St. marks a significant step in transforming the neighborhood, replacing vacant properties with hope and opportunity. This work is about more than just building homes—it's about building a future for local families experiencing housing insecurity. We invite our supporters and community members to invest in the hope this work provides. Your donations and partnership directly support the construction of these homes and the renewal of Sandwich Towne. Together, we can make a lasting impact. We want to thank BK Cornerstone Design Build Ltd. for their partnership on this project. We would also like to thank Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) Société canadienne d'hypothèques et de logement(SCHL) for their continued support, helping to build affordable homes in Windsor and Essex County.

Great to be in Leamington to join Fiona Coughlin, CFRE CEO of Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex and the team from The Bridge Youth Resource Centre to welcome Ontario’s Minister of Municipal Affairs and Housing Paul Calandra as he toured Canada’s first 3D printed multi-unit home. Habitat and its partners are utilizing some truly amazing technologies to help tackle Ontario’s housing crisis head on. Thanks for taking the time to see it first hand, Minister.
