About us

Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex is a non-profit, faith-based organization working for a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. Our mission is to engage volunteers and community partners in building affordable housing and promoting home ownership as a way to break the cycle of poverty. The HFHWE ReStore sells new and gently used building materials, appliances, and solid surface furniture that have been donated by strategic partners and individual donors in our community. Funds generated in our ReStore cover all of HFHWE's operating costs and a large portion of our construction costs - ensuring that every penny of every dollar donated goes to building projects right here in Windsor-Essex County.

  • We're proud to continue our work in Sandwich Towne, contributing to the revitalization of this historic community. The recent excavation and foundation work on two homes on Peter St. are part of our commitment to providing affordable housing through the Habitat for Humanity Windsor-Essex partnership program. Additionally, the demolition of a derelict home on Brock St. marks a significant step in transforming the neighborhood, replacing vacant properties with hope and opportunity. This work is about more than just building homes—it's about building a future for local families experiencing housing insecurity. We invite our supporters and community members to invest in the hope this work provides. Your donations and partnership directly support the construction of these homes and the renewal of Sandwich Towne. Together, we can make a lasting impact. We want to thank BK Cornerstone Design Build Ltd. for their partnership on this project. We would also like to thank Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation (CMHC) Société canadienne d'hypothèques et de logement(SCHL) for their continued support, helping to build affordable homes in Windsor and Essex County.

Great work done by Habitat for Humanity Canada and The Bridge Youth Resource Centre to build Canada’s first 3D printed homes site in Municipality of Leamington. Innovative approaches like 3D printing will help us get more homes built quickly for hardworking Ontarians across the province.

  • Not every day of building is on a construction site! We want to thank WEST of Windsor Inc. and the participants of their Construction Training program for their help preparing for our 30th Anniversary Event held this past Saturday at Habitat ReStore. Thirty years of building in Windsor-Essex, helping more than 115 families build, repair and restore homes is an incredible achievement and partnership is the foundation for this success. This team built a series of games and events for the community to enjoy, allowing us to connect and thank our greater community for three decades of support.
