I'm pleased to be coordinating a 4-hour workshop on "Satellite InSAR Monitoring of Tailings Dams: Practical Perspectives from Case Study Applications" at this year's Tailings and Mine Waste Conference in Westminster, Colorado. The half-day (morning) workshop will be held on Sunday, November 10. The main goal of this workshop is to provide a practical overview of how satellite InSAR is being integrated into tailings dam monitoring programs, how the data is being interpreted by end-users, how technical challenges are being addressed, and how InSAR continues to develop/advance as a remote sensing monitoring technology. I'm especially glad that this workshop is an ensemble collaboration between Mine Owners (Teck Resources Limited, Rio Tinto, BHP), Engineers of Record (BGC Engineering Inc., Klohn Crippen Berger), and InSAR data analysts (GEOAPP, TRE ALTAMIRA, 3vGeomatics, Viridien). My thanks to all of the established experts who have volunteered to contribute to a timely discussion on InSAR application for TSF monitoring. If you're interested in attending, you can register via the official TMW conference website (an overview of the workshop is also shown in this link): https://lnkd.in/gqFU8zBH
