Investing in the Township to meet community needs, the Township of Langley has prioritized projects that are now under construction, with several already completed. Several Township of Langley capital projects approved by Council as priority investments to help meet community needs are under construction with some now completed, including a new fire hall, five new arenas, several park upgrades, several new athletic turf fields, road improvements, a booster pump station, and others in the planning or public engagement phases, and pending budget and Council consideration. “The Township has gone far too long without new infrastructure and amenities to meet the growing needs of our community members, but this Council is changing that with investments in fire protection, road improvements, sports amenities, park upgrades, and more.” – Township Mayor Eric Woodward View the details and progress updates for all approved projects at https://ow.ly/qbz350U1M7E

Township Mayor Eric Woodward and Councillors gathered with Township Fire Chief Jason de Roy, IAFF Local 4550 President Jordan Sparrow, Fire Department staff, and other guests to celebrate the ground-breaking of the new Fire Hall 5 in Brookswood-Fernridge. The new replacement firehall will be built to serve the citizens of the Brookswood-Fernridge community helping the Township of Langley Fire Department continue protecting life, property, and the environment. The project value is approximately $32 million with a completion date set for early 2026. "Once completed, a new fire hall for Brookswood-Fernridge will significantly reduce response times, providing better service and safety for our residents. We need to prepare for growth ahead of time and ensure our infrastructure and public safety is ready." — Township Mayor Eric Woodward “This modern fire hall will reduce response times throughout many areas of the Township by approximately 21 seconds on average, and over 3.5 minutes for the Brookswood-Fernridge area specifically, which is key in protecting and saving lives and property.” — Township Fire Chief Jason de Roy Learn more about the new fire hall at https://ow.ly/riSX50TTNf2

A huge shout-out of appreciation and thanks to our Township of Langley Public Works crews, supported by our Fire Department and local RCMP, who worked day and night in the wind and rain throughout the recent storm to clear flooded areas and debris, and re-open roads that were closed. The major rainfall in a short period caused major flooding in 30 roadways and areas of the Township, most of which are now cleared and re-opened. Fortunately, no Township residents or employees were injured. #EmployeePride #LangleyTownship
