Co-founder/GM at Shape (AI & 3D Studio), Emmy-winning XR Producer, I share the latest insights in spatial computing daily ᯅ
British Columbia's tech sector has long been a powerhouse of innovation, contributing significantly to the economy and fostering a vibrant community. We're fortunate to have leaders like Ray Walia, FCPA, FCMA and Boris Wertz who are committed to building and strengthening our tech community. Over the years, they have laid a solid foundation for BC’s tech ecosystem to thrive, and their impact continues to resonate today. Under Ray’s leadership, Launch Academy HQ has incubated more than 6,000 entrepreneurs from over 100 countries. Three hundred of them have reached seed and series A funding, collectively raising more than $2.5 billion dollars. Amidst turbulent challenges, Ray has found himself in situations where most people would have given up. Yet, his tenacious drive has prevailed each time, speaking volumes about his character as a leader. Boris Wertz, founder of Version One Ventures, is celebrated as one of North America's top early-stage investors. His keen eye for emerging trends and dedication to nurturing passionate entrepreneurs have significantly impacted BC's tech landscape. Many of his portfolio companies have gone on and become multi-billion dollar companies, catalyzing a new generation of pioneers, risk-takers, and innovators. Last night, I had the privilege of celebrating these two remarkable people in my life, who have not only made an impact on BC's tech sector but also the trajectory of my entrepreneurial journey. Thank you Jill Tipping, FCPA, FCA and BC Tech for organizing such a wonderful event recognizing the leaders in our industry who have steered our community toward a bright and promising future. Congratulations to all the inductees, nominees and winners of this year’s Technology Impact Awards!

One of the most common questions our CEO, Ray Walia, FCPA, FCMA, receives from the #founders of fast-growing #startups is: How should they retain talent? Listen to his thoughts.
