New Gold hosted a mine rescue event as part of the Canadian Mining Games held earlier this month at Université Laval in Quebec City. Students were challenged to complete in various tasks including knot-tying, first aid, CPR, simulated rescue and more. Members of our team from across the company also took part in the career fair, speaking with students and sharing their industry experience.   

New Gold attended the 34th BMO Global Metals, Mining & Critical Minerals Conference in February. Last week, New Gold hosted analyst and investor tours at both the New Afton and Rainy River mines. The tours provided an excellent opportunity to showcase the strength of our teams at each site and demonstrate our ability to deliver on our updated life-of-mine plans and generate strong free cash flow in the coming years. The tours paid focused attention to New Gold's significant exploration upside and opportunities beyond the existing life-of-mine plans.

As an Environmental Geoscientist-in-Training, Tenea Dillman spends most of her time working at New Gold’s New Afton Mine thinking about one thing—water. Each year, employees at the New Afton Mine raise vital funds for community organizations through annual fundraisers during the holiday season. Last year, nearly $90,000 was split evenly between the Canadian Mental Health Association Kamloops Branch, BC SPCA Kamloops Branch, and the BIG Little Science Centre Society. “In 2024, we raised the highest amount we’ve ever achieved, and it’s amazing to see the generosity and community spirit of our employees shine through year after year,” said Doreen Grenier, Management Administrative Assistant at New Afton Mine. https://lnkd.in/eFvQRgmW

Geology Supervisor Corey Lablans took a break from working at New Gold’s Rainy River Mine to provide a bite-sized geology lesson for Mrs. Ellis’ classroom at St. Mary School in Fort Frances, Ontario 👷🏼 🍪⛏️  “Using something like a chocolate chip cookie to show the difference between rocks and minerals is a way of demonstrating a big concept in a fun, engaging, and bite-sized way for kids,” said Corey. https://lnkd.in/g6sevWAR
