About us

Petroservice is a service, distribution, installation and construction company in the petroleum and fluid handling industry, headquartered in Saint John, New Brunswick. From the beginning, we’ve remained focused on striving to provide the best service in the industry – building our products and service offerings to consistently meet our customers’ needs and expectations. Our story begins in 1985, when we were a business unit within what was then known as Commercial Equipment. In these early days, we were a team of four employees – learning the ropes and building expertise. In 1992, we opened our first facility in Saint John focused on rebuilding gas pumps, acting as a central location for equipment distribution, and as home base for our service technicians. From this location, we stepped out on our own, and in 1998 officially became Petro Service Limited. We are commonly referred to as Petroservice, our registered business name. In our quest to provide next level service, we expanded our service offering in 2000 to include project management & construction capabilities and adding our Weights and Measures Accreditation in 2004. Petro Service Limited is accredited by Measurement Canada, an agency of Industry Canada, to perform inspections pursuant to the Weights and Measures Act. We continue to plan and build for the future; the future of the industry, the future of our customers’ business needs. In November 2017, J.A. Robinson Pump Service Ltd. joined the Petroservice family. Established in 1958 in Winnipeg, MB, J.A. Robinson Pump Service Ltd., specializing in the construction and maintenance of service stations, has grown to include many other services including car wash construction & maintenance, tank testing and fuel management.

  • Monitoring the interstitial space between double wall fuel storage tanks is an important piece in protecting our environment. The interstitial space of a double wall tank is simply, the empty space between the walls of the tank. By monitoring this area, we can trigger alarms to alert site owners when the main internal tank is compromised. 🚨 In this video, our Technical Trainer Steve Hill explains the two monitoring methods using a wet or dry interstitial. Dry Interstitial is when we place a sensor in the interstitial, that when wet, will trigger an alarm. Wet Interstitial is when we add Brine (salt water) in the interstitial and monitor the level of the brine. - #RetailFueling #SupplyIntallMaintain #FuelingFundamentals

  • Retail gas stations tend to use USTs to store their fuel to save on space. Think about it, having a huge fuel tank aboveground may not be an ideal use of land when you need spots for cars to park and refuel! Plus, with the recent uptake in on-site car washes and restaurants the need for real estate is even GREATER! 💪 - #RetailFueling #SupplyIntallMaintain #FuelingFundamentals

  • How can you prevent siphoning of an AST? 🤔 The OPW 199ASV Anti-Siphon Valve is designed to help prevent siphoning of an aboveground storage tank should a leak or break occur in the fuel-supply line. The 199ASV installs on the top of an aboveground storage tank with a suction rod on the inlet and the fuel-supply line (to a remote pump) on the outlet of the valve. A poppet in the valve remains normally closed, isolating the tank from siphoning. When the remote pump is activated, it overcomes a factory-adjusted spring set to a predetermined hydrostatic head pressure and allows flow of fuel out of the AST. An internal pressure relief valve helps absorb thermal expansion in the fuel-supply line. We offer yearly tank inspections for maintenance, safety and code compliance. A part like the anti-siphon valve would be one of the items our technicians would inspect to make sure your AST is good to go! - #AntiSiphonValve #OPW #SupplyInstallMaintain

  • What is the use case for Ultrasonic Liquid Level Measuring Sensors? 🤔 Liquid Level Measuring Sensors are the perfect cost-effective solution to monitor your aboveground storage tanks (ASTs). When only monitoring ASTs, it becomes costly to connect an entire Automatic Tank Gauge (ATG) system for just one or two aboveground tanks. That's where Veeder-Root's Cellular Ultrasonic Sensors with the Delta Cloud Hosted Fuel Management System come into play. Allowing you to use Liquid Level Measuring Sensors with the Delta Portal to monitor and manage your fuel. If your AST does not require Mag Plus or Mag-FLEX probes, Liquid Level Measuring Sensors are the perfect alternative! 📏 Some of the insights that these sensors can track include Gauge to see Liquid Level Liquid Type, Last Contact with Modem, Estimated Runout Days, Amount to Fill, Usable Liquid Remaining, Sensor Type, Location and Tank Information. - #LLMS #DeltaCloud #TankMonitoring
