Right To Play protects, educates and empowers children to rise.
About us
PLAY. It’s at the heart of everything we do. It educates, empowers and protects girls and boys, allowing them to be successful in their own learning and development, and prepares them for their future. We believe in a future for every child driven by opportunity, empowerment and possibility. With programming in over 18 countries, we transform the lives of more than one million children each week inside and outside of the classroom. In addition to our work with children, we advocate with parents, local communities, and governments to advance the fundamental rights of all children. Right To Play is headquartered in Toronto, Canada with programs in Africa and Asia, the Middle East and North America in both development and humanitarian contexts.

“Often it’s the girls who are absent, so I make parents aware of the importance of girls’ education by explaining that an educated girl can become the leader of a large organization and contribute to the peace and prosperity of an entire community.” Aminata wants every child to go to school. As someone who experienced displacement, she knows how challenging it can be to get back to school, especially if you’re a girl. Her organization works with the community to ensure children from refugee and host communities have a chance to learn, and that girls have the same opportunities as boys. Read her story:

In times of crisis, play can be a powerful source of healing for children. In collaboration with local partners in Lebanon, we’re helping displaced children receive vital psychosocial support through play, sports, and music, giving them a safe space to process trauma and regain a sense of normalcy. By donating to the Children’s Emergency Fund, you will help children access this critical support. Donate today at https://lnkd.in/gBeaAAHv

Nobody’s bigger and nobody’s smaller.” See how play-based learning is making classrooms in Ghana more inclusive, ensuring all students—especially girls and children with disabilities—feel comfortable and welcome to participate. Through the Partners in Play program, teachers in more than 2,000 schools are using songs, games, and movement to create collaborative, fun environments where students are gaining new skills and developing a lifelong love of learning.

Through play, children learn to regulate emotions and build relationships, creating a crucial foundation for their growth, and allowing them to express themselves and connect with others in ways that go beyond words.
