When women unite, the potential for change is limitless. Earlier this year, UNICEF Canada's Women UNlimited members gathered in New York for an inspiring two days of collaboration, learning, and connection with global experts from UNICEF and US-based women philanthropists. Members from our incredible women-led giving circle explored how partnerships like theirs accelerate change, supporting UNICEF’s Child Protection programs in The Gambia and driving lasting impact for children, families, and future generations. As we approach #InternationalWomensDay, their dedication reinforces the importance of women’s collective action. When women unite, they can break barriers and drive sustainable, scalable, and innovative impact for children in some of the world’s toughest places. A heartfelt thanks to our inspiring Women UNlimited donors and UNICEF staff including Megan Gilgan, Lauren Rumble, Dr Zeinab Hijazi, Kieran O'Brien, Werner Orellana, Alliyah L., and Solange Tuyishime Keita for your commitment to children. Chief Executive Officer at UNICEF Canada. Multi-sector leader. Collective impact. Global change.

Ambition is a funny thing. It’s deeply personal. But it can be contagious – or curtailed – by the outside world. Everyone, including women and girls everywhere, deserve to live the upper limits of their dreams.  Education helps reset the floor of what gets imagined. The good news is that every minute of every day there are victories toward this.  And through your support of UNICEF we get more of them. As we mark #InternationalWomensDay tomorrow, I’m thinking about the many girls and young women (including this highly energetic crew I had the pleasure of meeting recently at their school in southeast Africa) who are working hard to see education redefine the trajectory of their lives.  Education isn’t all that matters. But it can matter more than anything else. #IWD2025 UNICEF Canada

"What's the role of purpose in addressing the new era of global shifts and shakes?" Spoiler alert: more relevant by the moment. Was great to dive into this topic at today's Foundation, Endowment and NFP Investment Summit -- through the unique lens of @UNICEF. (Bonus fun getting to hear from long-time friend and collective impact guru Jamison Steeve on how Canadians can step up even more and faster in shaping what we want to see.) 🇨🇦 🌎

  • Bundled in warmth, wrapped in care. Many children and families in Syria continue to face the lasting impacts of conflict, displacement, and economic hardship. As temperatures drop, their struggle grows even tougher. With your support, UNICEF is providing winter clothing to children in rural areas, helping them stay warm and protected from the freezing cold.

  • Girls Belong in Schools. Providing education to a girl has a multiplier effect. It helps reduce the risk of child marriage, breaks cycles of poverty, and leads to healthy, productive lives. An educated girl is empowered to shape her future and uplift her community.

  • Three years old. Three years of war. Yehor has never known a world without conflict. Born just as the full-scale war in #Ukraine began, his three years have been marked by constant displacement. His family has continuously been forced to flee to escape the shelling. Now, they have found a moment of safety in Ukraine’s Cherkasy region. This is his story.
