A ground-breaking took place this week for a major expansion of Mennonite Educational Institute (MEI) secondary school in Abbotsford. School officials, local politicians and those involved in the project were at the site to celebrate the latest milestone that will see the retrofitting of 20,000 square feet of learning space, adds a new theatre and gymnasium, and an updated turf field. When complete, MEI secondary will have eight new learning centres, a new main entrance, and a pre-school addition with a contemporary design that includes metal cladding on the exterior and large interior open areas with built-in seating to be inviting and comfortable for staff and students. . . . . #SOA #SOAspaces #learning #education #architecture #modernlearning

At Rocky Point Engineering, we’re taking a moment today to recognize Truth and Reconciliation Day. It’s a day for reflection—acknowledging the painful legacy of residential schools and standing with Indigenous communities as we all work toward healing and understanding. Reconciliation isn’t just about one day—it’s about how we move forward together. We’re committed to creating an environment of respect, learning, and inclusion. Today, we encourage everyone to take the time to listen to Indigenous stories, learn from the past, and think about how we can all do our part in building a better future. Together, let’s honor the past and work towards a future where everyone feels seen and respected. #truthandreconciliation #indigenous #schools #mechanicalengineering

We’re pleased to share that Red Barn Winery at Jagged Rock, led by design principal Tom Kundig, FAIA, RIBA, has been featured in the latest issue of Architectural Record. “I always really enjoy projects that remodel or repurpose existing buildings, because I get to work in conversation with another designer and another client’s vision from the past,” Tom told Architectural Record. “In this case, the other designer is a younger version of myself, working with a younger version of my client."
