Seaspan Energy completes another first for Canada's LNG Industry 🍁 Last week, the Seaspan Garibaldi completed Canada’s first ship-to-ship LNG bunkering to a containership, performed while in the Port of Vancouver to the CMA CGM Pointe Du Piton, a 75,000t, 7,900 TEU containership that was built in 2024. "Seaspan is proud to be at the forefront of helping to reduce vessel emissions here in North America as LNG becomes an increasingly important transitional fuel for the marine industry. As more ship owners seek to use LNG to power their tankers, containerships, car carriers, and cruise ships, we are excited to offer our LNG bunkering services for those seeking ship-to-ship refueling in the Pacific Northwest and beyond.” Harly Penner- President of Seaspan Energy Read the full press release on our website 📰 https://ow.ly/Wt5450VhpI1 Vancouver Fraser Port Authority CMA CGM

While they may come from different fields — even working in different cities — both Julianne Nezgoda and Valerie Brandenburg stand as testaments to what remarkable leadership means here at Seaspan. They have broken barriers, fostered an inclusive culture, inspired those around them, and made their workplace safer. They make their teams stronger. Because of this, we are proud that they are Seaspan's nominees as 2025 Women in Defence and Security (WiDS) Remarkable Leaders. As the only female director in the Operations department of Seaspan’s Vancouver Shipyards, Julianne is breaking barriers in a traditionally male-dominated field while continuously setting up our workforce for success, while Val, now leading teams at Victoria Shipyards, has been instrumental in driving positive progress seen in initiatives around safety and encouraging women to join the trades. Congratulations to Julianne and Valerie! 👏 Read our interviews with both to learn more about their careers, what brought them to Seaspan, and how they are inspiring change every day in the shipyard 👇 https://lnkd.in/gdsFgGXt #AccelerateAction #WiDSBreakfast2025 #IWD #InternationalWomensDay

On #InternationalWomensDay, we'd like to take a moment to recognize the accomplishments of women across our entire workforce and the wider marine industry. The incredible work done at Seaspan would not be possible without the invaluable contributions of the women who fill integral roles on our team. But, part of #IWD is also recognizing where we can improve. Seaspan is committed to removing barriers to create a more inclusive and welcoming workplace, particularly in our Marine Transportation division. Learn more about how we are accelerating action, through initiatives like our Women in Marine event and the newly-designed (with inclusivity in mind) HaiSea Marine fleet 👇 https://lnkd.in/gyjTUFt2

As the only Canadian shipyard with the expertise, facilities, and domestic supply-chain to build polar icebreakers here at home, this polar icebreaker will be built entirely in Canada 🍁 at Seaspan’s Vancouver Shipyards, and support more than 1,000 local shipbuilders, along with our cross-Canada supply chain of more than 800 Canadian companies. The new polar icebreaker will be a Polar Class 2 ship, and, once delivered, will be one of the most advanced and capable icebreakers in the entire world. First major equipment space consolidated on HMCS Preserver ✅ In February, the latest achievement was reached on the construction of JSS2 - we successfully capped the ship’s pump room. One of the most complex outfit areas of the Joint Support Ships, these blocks contain a dense amount of equipment with piping and support structures. This would be an incredible milestone on its own, but even more noteworthy is that we were able to install 128% more pipes on these blocks in 14% fewer hours, compared to JSS1 – further proving our commitment to driving improvement and building ships more efficiently by integrating lessons learned. Although now known as experts in ship repair and modernization, did you know that our team at Seaspan's Victoria Shipyards also used to build ships? This includes the construction of all eight Royal Canadian Navy | Marine royale canadienne ORCA-class vessels, which are used to help train the next generation of sailors ⚓. For the first time ever, all eight of these ships sailed together! Check out the Navy's video of the event, captured during Photographic Orca Deployment Exercise (PODEX), a PHOTOEX led by Patrol Craft Training Unit (PCTU) 📽️ 🌊 👇 https://lnkd.in/g6Dd7tMu #BravoZulu
