A huge thank you to our wonderful employees for their generous support! The Spectrum Healthcare Foundation, backed entirely by employee donations, is proud to have funded innovative technology at Wellbrook Place. Our donation made it possible to purchase two Lucynt Dementia Magic Table Projectors for Wellbrook Place’s Behavioral Support Units, which care for adults with dementia and mental health disorders. These ceiling-mounted projectors transform any surface into a fun and engaging space. With over 160 games featuring sounds and designs specifically tailored to support various stages of dementia, these projectors promote social interaction, cognitive stimulation, and overall well-being. The Wellbrook residents enjoy these interactive games 2-3 times a week supporting those with middle to late stages of dementia with stimulating games such as Bubble Fish, Alien Acrobats, Balloons, Spring, and Animal Flip. These activities provide fun and engagement for groups of 6-8 residents, and family members are always welcome to join in the fun! "Our experience with the Lucynt tables has been fantastic, and our residents have been enjoying various games regularly, as the Lucynt table games are part of our standard programming," says Natalia Durango, Associate Director of Programs at Wellbrook Place. Did you know that people over 65 are more likely to experience heat stress? ☀️ We had an amazing time at the Fiesta Extravaganza this past weekend hosted by the Filipino Canadian Association of Vaughan! The Spectrum Talent Acquisition and York PSW team loved meeting everyone and sharing why caring matters at Spectrum and how we go the extra mile to support our team members. Throughout the weekend, attendees had the opportunity to learn more about Spectrum Health Care and explore exciting job opportunities within the York region. Attendees also had the chance to win prizes and receive some awesome swag. Check out what our team was up to!

Today, we welcomed four remarkable Internationally Educated Nurses to the Spectrum team! Our CEO, Sandra Ketchen, had the privilege of connecting with them. Please join us in welcoming them to Canada!
Always one of my favourite things at Spectrum Health Care (SHC) - meeting today with our latest international nurse (IEN) arrivals. These four all flew in from different places - Saudi, India, Qatar, Kuwait. Like all of the other 51 before them over the last 2 years, they have come with the dream of creating a new life here in Canada for their families and young children who they have left behind (at least for now). They arrived just last Thursday and have already been to visit #NiagaraFalls! Our commitment remains to help them get licensed and practicing as nurses here in the GTA as quickly as we can. We now have more than a dozen fully passed their nursing exams and ready to go, pending their final immigration status. And in the meantime, these four amazing nurses will be starting their PSW work on Tuesday, caring for more frail seniors in our community. #spectrumhealthcare #internationalnurses #IENs #homecare #seniorcare #aginginplace #personalsupportworker
